3 days. No drugs involved, it was involuntary. I actually saw a huuuge rattlesnake jump out to bite me from a traffic light switching box. I had a bad sleeping disorder from hypertension. My old sleep schedule used to be 2 days up, 12 hour crash. It fucking sucked, really tore me up.

Whats the longest you have gone without any sleep??

I can only manage about 2 days... then i feel like my brains been fried... but then i cant swap hemispheres at will. :chin:

7 days without sleep here. Most in military have had to deal with that. In air force basic training you have a week called hell week which is week 4. You have to stay awake 24/7 for a week. they keep you very busy during the day with classes and marches. At night you end up either on dorm guard or in the kitchen cracking eggs or peeling potatoes at 3am.

Its dont to prove a point. Depending on the person after 48-7 hours your body reaches a breaking point, if you can get past that point its gravy. Once you pass that breaking point your brain goes into survival mode and releases a chemical that kind of makes you high and gives you a serious boost in energy , so the next few days you can stay awake and function due to the chemical. Its done to show you that your body can do more than you give it credit for.

I also went 3 weeks without taking a shit in the military. but thats cuz you dont eat alot and you burn all you take in so there is no waste

Well without drugs I've been up for 3 days. The last time was when I went to Amsterdam.Flew overnight, did not sleep, then when I get there I'm so excited that I can just go buy different kinds of smoke everywhere I just can't sleep. After about 20-25 grams and not sleeping for a couple of days when I do crash it's hard and long.I can't wait to get back over.

I never knew that.
It sounds tough, respect to anyone in the army.

longest w/ out sleep was a bit over 72 hours (3 solid days) There were no drugs involved.

...and the circumstances were brutal.

it was 72 hours WORK, and really no meals and really no breaks....and it was raining almost the entire time.

I was on commercial salmon boat in Alaska (the 1 and only time I'll ever commercial salmon fish)....we had a really bad first 8.5 weeks and if we would have stopped we would have actually owed the boat about a grand....for expenses.

We ended up doing pretty damn good... all things considered... (I won't even go into all the BS I put up with on that fukin' boat) I could write a book about it, and often consider it.

...anyway the last 72+ hours we killed it, and I walked away with $9,000...(so a grand a week for 9 weeks..all made in the last 72 hours) (ive made 6+ times that on other boats/other fisheries in the same time frame)

trust me I wasnt goin' out broke, and it suked big time to be up and working that long...I've done many 24 and 36 hour shifts on fishing boats (but shit.... there gets to be a point when you hallucinate and nothing is safe anymore)

I have also done some marathon driving feats. (...again no drugs involved)

my best was:
Seward Alaksa to Denver Colorado (4300 milesish)
3 days and part of a morning...(patience is a virtue, but it's not one of mine)

awesome thread BTW!!!

well for me after a day or 2 of no sleep I started not feeling even tired anymore just wide awake and dead feeling.

like after 2-3 days of no sleep I start hallucinating nothing crazy but still weird shit.

like I was reading / studying for an exam with like 3 days no sleep and words suddenly would turn to spiders for a split second and make me jump

also see things running across the room and other weird shit. you're brain basicly starts to fail with no sleep not sleeping for 10 days will do the same thing to your brain as not eating for 10 days would do to your body.

Ok, so the 72 hour limit is common, it is the LONGEST I can stay awake on my own will power. Mainly because I become delirious 1/2 way through the 3rd day, I can't make sense and I basically look like in slow mo, mentally whats going on in my head 'awwwwwwwwwwwwww...tireeedd... awwwwwww', I usually lay down and with 3 hours of sleep, GOOD AS NEW! Odd that I never get 8, just 3 afterwards for some reason.

Anyhow, thats what happen when you have a 'leave it to last minute' lifestyle and goto college. Still got honors though!

Ok ive cleaned up all the references to drug use in this thread. Discussions like this break the TOU when they become about drugs. Can we continue with the conversation without the references to drugs? Thanks

The longest I've stayed awake was 3 1/2 days, for finals this past semester, with some help from a friend who has ADHD and a script. (wasn't sure how to say it without breaking TOU)
