yes it is...now if it were indoor outdoor it mite be valid...but genetics is what determines quality...besides proper growing conditions ofcourse

well of course genetics is the most important part
but what .. if u have good genetics u dont care if u grow in soil or in hydro

that is the question

this is not good genetics vs shitty genetics thread

but soil vs hydro it is not the same if u grow same genetics in soil or hydro and i wanna know what people prefer and why

;)

ww nobody is trying to change the subject of the thread,I just have an irritating habit of echoing intelligent statements lol.If you ask the moneymakers they will tell to hydro hands down,it fits their lifestyle. If you talk to the connessuirs they will tell you organic or good quality soils or coco. The only thing the two camps will agree on is genetics is the most important thing to them,if they know what they're doing.By genetics I dont necessarily mean chronic erb either,a moneymaker may want to grow bigbud or Hog in hydro whereas most connessuirs go for quality genetics. So you see its kind of a hard question to get answered because people have different motivations. Now that I've confused even myself I'll be sayin adios

hydro in coco is my fave.. i've done soil and quite a few different hydro methods. with a coco grow set up on a dripper or similar system watering is effortless, plants in individual pots gives mobilty that I like, fast growth, good yeilds and maintains the taste.. hard to beat IMO.

coco is by far the best method out now.

this poll is not an accurate representation located in the soil section. move it to the hydro forums and watch it sway the other way.

Very true The Dopest. Also, make a poll only for growers that have grown with both hydro and soil and you'll probably get a wider perspective on things.
I started out as an outdoor grower, became an indoor grower, have grown in soil, hydro and have spent the last year playing around with coco.
All grow methods have advantages and disadvantages. Some growers prefer one method over another, for X reasons, so the question "which is better and why?" is too vague to make any sense.
Would I tinker in my basement if I could sow a field with 500 plants and profit from the superior light spectrum of the sun? Definitely not. Everything's relative...

Can you honestly tell the difference between plants grown correctly in coco and plants grown correctly in Ocean Forest?

I definitely can. For my environment, coco gets more internodes than the ocean forest. I assume its because its always getting air, unlike soil...of course my mix wasnt dialed in right. If you get a grip of perlite or whatever, you could get comparable results, but with coco you can water everyday, even several times a day, and never get root rot because of airflow. Cant do that with soil. At least in my experience. Peace and Soul peoples.

i vote coco...i have tried ebb and flow, drip, deep water culture, soil, coco, soilless, rockwool....Coco has been the best. It is best when comparing ease of use, yield, flavor, and such....
