This is merely my opinion, as have had no actual experience in growing. To my understanding, the only thing that hydro has on soil, is faster grows, and perhaps bushier buds. Although, I dont see why they couldnt be just as bushy through soil if trained right. People seem to pass off all dank as "dro" around here, and in a lot of other areas. So, people seem to automatically think that hydro is obviously the better more-potent form of growing. (which I used to believe, myself.) I personally think soil would make for better grows. Just seems more natural. Hence, organics. Peace.

I'm gonna say soil, just cause of it's ease of learning with. I use coco myself, in a combo of hand watering and drip. In essence...it's a passive hydro method...but as an earlier poster said...hydro's only advantage is speed. It doesn't produce better buds.

Cheers,

Both have their advantages but the way I look at it is that cannabis grows in soil if you go check it at least the last time I checked it doesnt grow in water in the nature. Hydro is faster un my experience, easier to run and yields better if you do it right, but for some strange reason soilgrown herb always tastes better, or maybe "tastes more" is a better way to express my feelings, even resin of soil grown plants is much more tastier in my very humble opinion.

Put this poll in the soil forum and more people will vote soil, put it in the hydro forum and more will vote hydro.

I personally think hydro is the all around better growing method. I started indoor growing with this method and it couldn't be any easier. With hydro it is easy to know the exact ph and nutrients that your plant is getting. They grow faster and bigger. IMHO

I like hydro because it is cleaner and easier (no soil to haul and make messes with) and there is less chance of pests getting into your garden.

I voted "dunno" cause, event though I like soil, I've never tried hydro. Unless you've done both then how can you really say?

there is not cut and dry answer it all depends on your goals. hydro is great for many things, you need a bunch of clones, drop a clone in a biobucket for 2 or 3 weeks and you'll have your clones the same growth rate does not usually occur in soil. that being said my headstash will always be grown in soil always. hydro give better growth rates and therfore better yeilds , in general. but nothing can beat the taste of herb grown in the soil organically, given a long flush and dried slowly then cured for 2+ months. with the right strain it will taste like your puffing on candy lol. you can still grow great tasting dank in hydro but i don't think it will have the richness of flavor or complexity of flavor as the same plant grown in soil. now if i were a commercial grower and wanted to find a happy medium i would go with organic hydro IMO still not as good as soil but 99% of those who smoke it wont be able to tell the difference or even care for that matter. but again headstash nice and slow in soil if you've got an efficient grow going youll never be without your organically grown herb.

if this is your first grow or your first grow with either hydro or soil and your really antsy about getteing some finished product use clones and grow hydro. once youve got a few ounces to keep you company setup your next grow as an organic one.

if you growing commercial grow hydro

growing for yourself grow organic soil.

I veg under t5 floros, the 4 foot 8 bulb setup, in a months time in a 5 gal dwc I got a giant dabney blue bush, no way in hell I could have gotten it that big in soil in my own setup, maybe 2 months tho. Im in the process of switching over from soil to hydro as I find it much easier to have a few giant plants with much less veg time than a few more soil plants with loads of extra plants in veg to try and have them as big as possible for bloom.
