Solar Powered

Ok so I am on this mission alone I guess.
Based on the calculation from the website if I were to run a 15 watts (the bulb is a 13watt CFL) for 14hr/day the BRUNTON SOLARFLAT 15 should be more than enough solar panel. It calculated out to somthing like .44 of the panel needed. So I think that the panel can handel it(I hope). But now its down to the battery.

I rechecked my numbers with the 15watt configuration and I need somthing like 22 AH to run the light. If you take that and double it that should be my battery size in AH as I would only want a 50% discharge before recharging is needed by the solar panel or running my car which I probably witll do a combo of both.

I decided on the BRUNTON SOLARFLAT 15 based on its size. The other one was over 2" thick and the Brunton is .5" and totally self contained. So the extra $ is worth it as it will be mounted on my roof.

I hope this works cause they are looking bad.......
I am going to get the battery first and run it with just recharging via my car for a little while. Then work on the solar panel.... I so so sad to see then all wilted over, if my ladies die it will suck. Mainly because I craced my last 3 sourbubble seeds and got 3 gals and was not able to make f2's as i never got a sourbubble male... So the last 3 of my sourbubble gals are dying and I will kick myself if they die.

the math

110watt (9,700 lumens) ....4 hours (call it 3 ) 1 x 12v car battery

18 hours veg cycle .... 6 hours recharge time isnt enough need 9 minimum as a 4v ac-dc drip charger need 24 hours to recharge 1 battery

2 blocks of 3 x 12volt car batteries with a 100watt solar connected to each block ... run 1 block with the light on while the other block collects light either outside or off to the side given enough light .past 9 hours blocks flip giving 9 more hours light while the low batteries recharge ..cycle ends they both sit either in the dark or are connected to a 3rd (6 batteries) block thats been charging all day in the sun with 2 100 watt pannels

this theratically would give you a free running 110 watt florecent ..but the cost of all is stupid so just pay the electricity bill ....
