Well you sure acted like he was inferior to you...Your acting like a child. Seriously, grow up. Have you realized that instead of cussing at someone to try and solve your problems, maybe try and have a slightly civil conversation with them? Although, i think that's too hard for you since you seem like a useless moron to me. Go ahead and post what you want, be a dick...then see what happens. Karmas a bitch!

you call me a not to bright dick, then lecture me about cussing. you are a fucking dweeb :moon: ...and im through with you...sum_kid good luck with your grow, stick to organics and go from this

I'm not trying to confuse you bro,it'll work either way.If you dont use a flo light to sprout them, get the light above them IMMEDIATELY after they break the ground, otherwise they will stretch on you and you'll have a lanky leaning sprout.I've always found it better for me to simply put them under the light after planting to avoid any kind of stretch that may occur.Another good idea is to leave an inch or so on top of the pot without soil, that way after they sprout and go through the initial stretch, you have about an inch or so you can fill in with soil to support the stem.Roots will grow from the buried stem making it that much sturdier. Also put a small oscillating fan on them right after they sprout to strengthen the tiny main stalk

is it ok to put 26 wats under each plant wen its juss like an inch tall and then get sum more later? or do u need more? im ganna get a 150hps for flowering. i got some african violet. is that ok? i was in a hurry so i culdnt keep looking around. im ganna go to walmart ritenow should i get um jiffy pellets or juss put the seeds in the african violet?

You will need more light than 26w per plant soon.

dr dank- your an idiot, you've proved that from your posts. Nice job putting 5 plants in one pot btw. I'm not going to argue with you, take it to pm's if you want to continue being a moron. I said you were being a dick, i didn't flat out swear at you.

I'm a beginner like You. My Homedepot have 40watt "OTT LITE " florescent grow bulbs. I was very happy with them. Like Skeletor says.I turned them on right after the 1st seed popped thru the surface . Soon the other seeds followed. You want them close but not to close . Like 4 to 6 inches. You will be able to tell. The CFL bulbs run hotter then the regular florescent bulbs and need to be set a little higher. I used jiffy peat plugs the 1st time and they worked fine. Next round I tried Rockwool cubes and they worked just as well. Peat plugs will be just fine untill You feel like trying something different.Your in the US right? The Ace Hardware will offer a better variety quality ferts , pot/soil mixes then HD. I've been thru the seed to seedling process only a couple times myself. Which ever steps You choose to sprout your seeds, keep them moist not soaking wet and keep them warm. handle the sprouted seeds as little as possible. If your seeds are healthy they will sprout for ya. Keep it simple for now, plenty of time to figure out the next steps.

I'll give you some good advice a 2 lamp 4 ft shoplight with curved reflector from home depot will start your plants off a lot better than what you're using now.Its funny I rarely grow seedplants anymore but I have some going now,I have the lamps literally 1/2 inch above the tops and they are little 4 inch bushes now, much better than I could do with any other light and I have 400s and 1000s.The simple T-12 literally on top of the plants are that effective,at least they've been for me.I'll start in little 4 inch pots and grow them under the shoplight until I'm ready to transplant to a 1 gallon pot, then its time for the HIDs.They are only good for 4 of 5 inches, but they are really effective for that start

I think you should soak the seeds in water (clean/sterile) for 12 hours then lightly plant/cover 1/4" deep (.6cm) in your wet potting soil. You can cover the small pots/cups with clear plastic wrap to keep them moist. Place at a temperature of at least 75 degrees (23c) and no hotter than 90 degrees(32c) . When seeds begin to sprout, remove wrap and use your florescent lights at 1-2 inches away.

Some quick advice.
The super soil is good but i find it to be acidic.
Add dolomite lime to your mixes so you don't have to screw with the PH everyday.
The alaskan fish and others are very, very acidic. I use it for ph down in my hydro tank....
Go to a garden center and get bat/bird guano and worm castings.
Make a tea(you will find 10 different recipes here) and you will be wayyyyy better off.
My 2 cents.
Stay peacefull

As long as the african violet soil is fluffy, it may be okay to use for small seed starting cups.(w/holes for drainage) Better to get promix hp or majestic potting soil from homedepot. Both are ph adjusted with dolomite lime. If the mix contains alot of peatmoss, add perlite to make it fluffy. Cover the seeds, after soaking in sterile/clean water, with small amounts of fine potting soil (no bark chunks etc...) Lightly mist the soil so it firms the soil down on the seed. Don't wash the seeds away with too strong a spray.
