Are these bad or ok?

i am hoping they are just dead matter eaters. but as they are in my cutting soils as well, i am a little worried.

my soil mix is:
coco
pumice
vermiculite
touch of sand
some chicken poo pellets

pics of the bugs...those are small perlite chunks...i am guess these guys are about 1/4-1/2 mm long...sorry for the pics...they are TINY and they move.....best i could get atm.

any ideas?

white bugs

white bugs

I have had some issues with FF ocean forest lately, these little hopping white bugs pop up after a few weeks of water. Very strange and they didn't seem to bother the plants, but sure bothered me to see hundreds hopping around like white fleas ergh..

spidermites in those pics... ...better get'm quick

Those are some spidr mites bro, Get some AZETROL and knocke them fuckers down.... and spray your underside of leaves and the soil get it a good drench..
Azetrol is systemic, meaning that it stays in the system, IME I seen that it usually stays in the Immediate area where you sprayed so You are gonna have to stay on top of the spraying thing....
I really hope you don't have a large amount of plants invested, i HATE MITES..
Good Luck buddy

awww fuck :(:(:( spider mites, REALY?

well guess its good i got em before i started a bigger proj...only a few plants right now.

I see nothing on the leaves (yet) so i guess i am lucky, so far they are only in the soil.

anybody know of some common everyday items to kill them...i live in Asia and these brand names mentioned are not heard of here.

thanks again guys! any more suggestions are more than appreciated.

To begin with I would put some "Tanglefoot"---- a gluey substance that stays gluey and does not dry out, we call ti "tanglefoot" , it's a pest barrier,

Anyways I put some tanglefoot on the stalks of your plants and any other area that you can so they will stick to that shit and DIE THE SOB'S..... If you can remember that you have some tanglefoot arround the rim of your pots, i would put it arround the rim of your pots or container....

and I would get different soil, cause the soil you got was jacked already when you bought it....
Good luck bro

hmmm great idea! we got some neato fly sticky traps. come in 12" by 18" sheets....could cut some strips for the plants.

i am thinking these fuckers acme on ants....ants are EVERYWHERE********* around this country (hot tropical)....so ant traps are also on the next grocery store visit.

as for sprays and such that are easily found, what do you guys think? is simple soap ok with these? or pathetic...i just ethanol'd the top of the soil to at elast kill some (i protected the leaves, and just sprayed the surface)....but i need something safe, that isn't toxic to use (i have plants in flower now as well).

im reading the other spider mite threads, but if anyone has any info here, that would be killer!

and to think, for 15 years of gardening i KNEW this would never happen to me lol :(

Last few bags of FFoF I've used have all had problems. One bag the soil was pretty much dead. Anything planted in it didn't seem to want to grow until I hit it with a good tea. They perked right up after reintroducing some good bacteria to the mix.

But every bag I've gotten lately has had some kind of pest in it. More often than not, they are silverfish. If you're seeing as many as you say though, I doubt it's silverfish. I've been using neem oil and pest strips to clear out my problems, and it seems to do pretty well.

If I had the room and storage in my house, I would probably make my own mix. But the boss won't let me do much more than I already am. But I am definitly getting turned off to FFoF. I'm going to give it one or 2 more runs and see what happens. If it's as bad as the last ones, I'll be looking elsewhere.

Azitrol is great, but I don't know that those are spider mites, they usually attack leaves first and like dry conditions.

Yeah, the worker at the hydro store told me the same thing the other day. I'm trying coco lately and it has been awesome, I may convert to coco and rockwool from now on, so much nicer..

if they are bugs in the soil just use diatomacous earth and be rid of them.

Dont put diatomaceous earth, it absorbs moisture, it only works dry. Im not trying to sound like a dick and shoot down ideas. It will create another set of problems. I could really go for some bread pudding bout now.
