Not only for jerks! I know Some good people who use Facebook. Not for me though.
Seems to be a lot of Facebook/ Twitter these days is for businesses- I mean, the train I was on earlier said follow me on Twitter..... Really? Who wants to follow a train?!? The idea is to ride in it

I was on Yahoo mail one day talking to one daughter about my other daughter's crappy job. Then logged out. When a person logs out of Yahoo mail it automatically redirects them to their main page. Then the first story, with a picture too, is "Ten of the Best Jobs Without Getting a College Degree". I clicked on the finance section of Yahoo, where the story was supposed to originate. But it was not even one of the stories on that page. That scared the crap out of me realizing they were reading my mail and using it so fast like that. All by software apparently. I had just typed that. So I just shut everything off and went and did something else.

What bothers me most about that shit is that then these companies then sell that info. Not just about me, but about my daughter too. Google mail does the very same thing, and "tailors" your search results from things you have written in Gmail. But the difference with them is they don't sell it, but keep it all for their own use.

So it's not just the NSA spying on citizens, it's most of those big internet companies too. So every time you turn on your computer, you are just a comodity? ...Wait...That just ain't right.

I am about to sound old as fuck which pains me deeply. But thats one of the things that really annoys me about the 18-25 generation now is they really don't seem to care or fuss about their right to privacy. They seem to not care just how bad it is that the government and corporations are invading their lives through social media and hijacking their reality through digital manipulation. Yet these candy ass millennials seem to think its just part of the game and part of the price of admission to farmville and tinder. But when I think about all that I feel old as fuck and wonder if I should go water my lawn.

I use twitter to get my news, and to network with other people in my profession. That's about it. 99% of my real world friends, and family have no idea how twitter works so I don't do much socializing with it

Never had any interest in Facebook.

I like pinterest a lot because (depending on how you use it) it can be very educational. I've actually learned a lot from that site about many different topics from gardening, to electronics, to deep space.

Could you please elaborate because I have absolutely no clue what you even mean. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion I guess. Still even those opinions usually make some kind of sense to me, usually some kind anyway.

My head hurts, I think I just lost some brain cells when I read that. My question to you would then be, why do you even come here and read the toker's den if that has been your experience? Or was that some joke that went completely over my head maybe?
