it's bwanana (think of a french/swiss accent saying banana, hehe... don't ask how I know)... same crew that made afgooey all the rage.

Not sure where it's originally from but I know a few people with it in one of Norcals lower counties. Incredible resin production, had a few going late last year and they turned out great and the hash was even better.

Since you guys are talking about Banana, I thought you'd enjoy these pic's of how Banana Kush grows. It's crazy.
The top grows sideways to make room for several new tops to grow up almost as tall as the main cola.
Check it out.
This is a few days into flower.
I'd love to try the Banana on it's own man.
Because this banana Kush is by far the stinkiest strain in veg.
We'll see if it beats the SSSour diesel haze in flower, smell wise.
I have a feeling it will. It's gotta be the Banana thats making it stink like that.
Because OG smells alot but not like this and not this strong!
Heres some pic's.

Jdog, That structure may actually be from the gene pool of the og. I have a sour diesel 2.5 cutting that looks identical to that in veg. FYI its my favorite cutting from any sour diesel line I've ever come across.

Lovely looking plants there JDOG, i bet they are stinkin it up good! my buddy was just raving about how good some banana kush was they were smoking, what iv smoked that supposed to be banana is awsome on its own, but every strain iv seen crossed up was some super dank. i really enjoyed some banana diesel i ran across a while back as well, some great smoke indeed.

Sure hope someone decides to take this stain on as a breeding project, ( i would be all smiles) so we can get some seeds rolling around. would add some awsome flavor to any Honey comb strain.

I re-call talking to some buddies about this clone back in winter of 2002. According to them it was the new hot thing going around humbolt and the area around alder point I believe it is called. Supposedly it's pretty killer, but I've never had the pleasure myself.

Thanks guys, that would make sence that that structure comes from the OG.
Chemdawg shoots up an extra cola too. Very similar. Just not as many extra colas as the Banana Kush.
So it probably comes from that.

I've smoked it once and it tasted like a banana flavored OG Kush.
Very nice and it had more of an indica edge to it from the Banana. Very potent.

Like I said Banana flavored OG Kush. lol
I'll get some pic's once it starts to look a little more different.
It still looks like those last pic's.
And I'll definately do a smoke report on this one.
It's almost already a keeper, IMO.
Because when I smoked it a while back I loved it and it was buds from this same clone but grown badly.
So I can only imagine how killer it will be grown organicly and right.

well well well, a buddy brought me a pleasant suprise when he got back from out of town, a nice variety of kush's!

finally sampled the banana kush, and it was very tasty i must say, but seemed to be lacking a bit of potency, had a great lingering after taste though! im looking forward to it being grown out organically, gonna be a stinker!

Banana was picked out of the mystery mix givin out by Gypsy, props go to Orgnkid for spotting the potential. The mystery mix was various seeds bred by Sagarmatha, sadly enough they get no credit. Orgnkid has made some awesome hybrids using the Banana clone, the banana/Og is some crazy shit.

Orgnkid's Banana Kush was credited to Sag when he first released the seeds. Here's some info:

Breeder: Cali Kush Seeds

Here the legendary OG Kush from Los Angeles meets a wonderful variety I called sag's 60/40ies aka Banana. A fairly compact plant, 60/40 aka Banana does well indoors and out and is a good yielder of some really high quality buds. This hybrid should increase the yield of the Ogers considerably and add some more sweetness to the Kush while maintaining the potentcy and high that has made the Ogers such a highly sought after variety. A great medicinal strain. Grow this variety and enjoy some of California's finest. This new cross should prove to be a keeper in even the pickiest growers gardens.

Now is the Banana that this thread is about or Dr Jay's the same as Orgnkids/Sagamarthas? Dunno

Thanks S4vvy, i knew orgnkid gave them credit for Banana. It just seemed the community didn't know or cared less. I'm not sure about about Dr Jay's as i've been pre-occupied with legal problems for a while now.

Dr. Jay raved about bwannana...... which is a strain often confused with Bannana. He said it came from the Sierra foothills, and the strain would have pre-dated orgnkid's "discovery" of Bannana or Sag 60/40

Oh I would also like to say that I once grew Bonana or bonano, and it was one of the best strains ever.... I kick myself repeatedly for not taking clones of it. Got the cut from a S.B club called Hortipharm about a year and a half a go, the owner later told me it was supposedly Bannana x Goo. I did'nt expect anything too special but gave it a run anyway... MY GAWD was it bomb. Had the best smell and flavor, and outrageous bag appeal. It grew spear shaped cola's, not a bad yeilder either. What I would give to get that strain back.... BTW it was 50X better than either Bannana or Goo, both of which i have smoked repeatedly. The weird thing is I've seen bonano flowers @ a club once and it was crap :chin:
