Yeah, that basically sums it up.

I've got about 50 plants in the 3rd bedroom. She's coming over to give a uh.. get this. VIEWING.

Fortunately, the law is on our side. 72 hour notice is legal. We're letting her in anyway? Long story, but she never directly informed us that she was coming. We talked to the REAL ESTATE lady about it, but when she found out that 2 rooms upstairs are going to be locked (roommate is out of town, he has the key) .. she told us to tell the neighbors to call her if we saw them.

2 hours later my MOM tells me the landlord (not real estate lady) called her and told her that she's coming over between 2-3 tmw. Lights will be off anyway... I'll be turning off all fans but the scrubber, the central air unit makes enough noise to drown it out.

My bedroom will be locked as well (less suspicious, I think? The grow bedroom is an "office" as far as she knows, she asked what we were using it for.. I told her I was a student at the local college. It's only 8'x9' so I told her it was my little "study.")

I think we'll be fine. First of all, what she's doing is rather rude. She's showing up without any notice? She never contacted me whatsoever. My mother does not live here, thank you. She has our phone numbers. RUDE. INTRUDING.

I plan on making her feel that way. I'll let her know I had no idea she was coming. I DID inform the real estate lady that 2 rooms we didn't have a key to unlock until the roommate came back to town.

I really don't wanna chop. I'm 33 days into flower on most, and like 50 days flower on 4 of 'em. Hell I got some vegging even.

Am I being stupid? Tips? Do's and don'ts? Trash bag 'em before then? She's an old lady. In the end, she's not getting in that room unless she kicks the door down? 72 hour notice by law, I'll simply ask her to leave if it comes down to it.

Point is, I don't see me getting busted tomorrow. Simply put, we DON'T have a key to open that door (I'll be the roommate that's gone as I'm the unemployed one - I collect unemployment from a layoff.) I'll be locked in the grow room or something.

I'd rather be the one to talk to her, because I know I can handle myself better. But meh, she know's my roommate works here in town at a gas station - how's he gonna just leave town? I on the otherhand have nothing to tie me here? Or am I overthinking things now?

Fucking with your landlord is an awful idea. You want to be in the best relations possible with your landlord or you should pick somewhere else to live (huge security risk). Also I don't think you are being over paranoid. If this is an old women I think you should be alright running the AC/scrubber with the lights off. If the room's locked, the room's locked. Nobody is going to kick your door down to get in their especially just to view the "study". I think you will be fine with the story you laid out.

Fuck this. I won't be sleeping tonight. I WANTED a box truck. I was gonna back it up all the way down the driveway, and run 'em from the back door the the truck at like 4 am? LOL.

I do want good relations with her, that's why she's more than welcome over. Remember she DIDN'T directly inform me, we're playing like we didn't know she was coming. The place is going to be... artistically messy. So we can claim "Oh, I would have cleaned up if I knew you were coming," etc .

Basically we're just gonna invite her in, and inform her the same thing we inform the real estate agent. 2 doors are locked, there's no way to open them at the moment. Be as friendly as can be. No direct answer as to "when" the person will be back, but rather a "I'll get back at you when I hear from him" type thing.

I'm trippin' out yo. My filter takes care of 100% of the odor. I can't even smell it in the room unless I'm like 6 inches from the buds.

I just don't want anything to look SUSPICIOUS. Don't wanna give her a reason to come back - I know they're trying to sell the building, so we knew this was a possibility. But with 23043290 home's out there on foreclosure? Not really a good market, didn't think anyone would be interested in our 6 month lease?

I do have a distraction. Money. I'm giving her rent money to her. The money order is sitting on the table right now. Gonna change the story away from the viewing to a "I lost your address and didn't know where to send rent money, blah blah" There's no "due date" on rent and no late fee's just a "get it in" method.

They've been really laid back pretty much. I just hope they don't INSIST on going in there in the near future. Worst comes to worst, the roommate is on vacation and I'll see if I can't buy 2-3 weeks lol. If she insists I'll have the key "mailed" in and I'll either find a truck to move 'em into for 24 hours or.... chop and do what I can with it.

And to be honest, I understand why they're coming by. We're renting it. They have a potential new OWNER.

I just would MUCH rather she contact us directly. It annoys me to find out from my mother that my landlord is coming over? Why are you using my emergency contact information to let me know you want to show MY place to a potential owner?

Bro--You saying "viewing" makes me assume your crib is actively on the market..My friend has been there done that and I can tell you itsa bitch!! Friend had to tear down a 2k grow overnight twice..rented a uhaul truck and putt everything related to the grow in the back while the fuckers came in and looked around for less than 2 min each time. (Not an option if your plants already reak.) If they are trying to sell your place crop out and get the hell outta there!! Big advise to you though..DO NOT piss off the landlord. If they decide to come again after tomorrows visit and you tell them the same "roomate" story they will be suspecious..likewise if she shows up without notice and find you have changed the locks she will also be suspecious..Also- some rentals require you to notify them if there are others living there..if you have not told them of said "roomate" they will also be asing you some questions..Sounds like you are probably good for tomorrow, but I would be looking for another place and tearing down after current grow.. Hope all goes well bro

eeek, i hate situations like that. living in a house that the owners are trying to sell sucks!!

i try to get myself landlords that are desperate to rent to keep afloat. i tell them up front. basically leave me alone or i'm leaving, that me and my family enjoy our privacy. if they push me too far..i fend them off til the next harvest and leave. are you in a medical state?

let us know how it goes...god speed. pray she doesn't call a locksmith on the spot. def. a possibility. i had a buddy lock himself and me in his room to avoid paying rent, and act like he wasn't home. landlord came in. called a locksmith. he knew we were in there. funny story because my buddy ended up taking off his shoes and jumping out the second story window into the grass. left me in there. landlord found me in there and was like who the hell are you..i didn't live there. hehe. funny story.

if it were me. i'd have already rented a uhaul and have them chillin down the block. :x if that's a possibility do it. i'm not trying to scare you, but i don't want to see you go to jail. unless your in a med state..than your good.

id be concerned about an old lady cuz she literally probably has a key to every room in the house. unless you changed the locks urself of course.

It would be wise to remove the plants from this room and establish an alternate plan soon. I'm not sure if this is something you really want to gamble with @ 50 plants.

I agree with Sport Farmer. The gamble is too big a risk.

Good Luck and be safe.

Meh in our state? Plant count does't matter. 1 or 1,000 is the same crime.

But yeah, I did say "viewing." The house is on the market... as of one month after we signed the lease lol. I was like FUCK THAT. But really real estate is WAY down around here. Like I said, there's 10,000 foreclosures out there with places this size for half the price of it. That's why I didn't pull the plug then.

Uhm, the locks on the doors were just put on today, I have roommates, privacy... it makes sense?

ONCE AGAIN, she LEGALLY has to give me a 72 hour notice before any inspection. I can allow it before then, but if it comes down to it, she HAS to leave. She can't do shit for at least 72 hours, except call the police? But for what? Because a door is locked? Law is on my side for 72 hours. I can remove them within 72 hours.

It's not gonna come to that, I don't imagine. Too late anyway for now - we'll see what happens in a few hours.

If I were coming over for a viewing and saw locks on the doors I'd think something was up. I've never seen locks on doors indoors and the story about a room mate out of town would make it seem fishy to me. But you know I've never thought about having room mates where you have to lock your door.

Lol, fuck this. 6:30 am. Drunk kinda. Waiting. Can't sleep. Jesus, I'm not helping myself any here.

But yeah, to the poster above - 3 people living here. 3 different work schedules... 2 different sets of friends. It's a privacy issue. I've seen plenty of people put a lock with a key on inside doors? Especially if you're living with someone else. I don't want anybody going through my shit when I'm gone, do you?
