I work a lot and nights to boot, so I don't have much spare time to socialize. What spare time I have tends to be used to spend time with my wife and doing errands and chores. Not that I don't want to socialize, but I have priorities and socializing is low on the list.

I think growing cannabis in places that it is illegal pretty much defines you to be a loner. The anxiety that comes with having people around when your growing in the next room. It's always running in the back of your mind. It's really a shame because I think there would be a lot more social growers if they could get together in person and share this great hobby.

Well one to two hours of hanging out once or twice a month should be plenty to avoid being seen as anti social. If you're sitting around doing nothing but drinking and smoking for longer then that it's not hanging out, it's more like loitering.

I'm not sure where this whole business of "hanging out" for hours and hours doing nothing more then drinking and smoking started. Back when I was hanging out getting high with friends we always got together, got high and then went and did something. The point was never to just sit around for hours and get wasted while doing nothing. The point was to get together, get toasted and then go do something that was made more interesting by getting toasted first.

I do blame indica or indica dominant strains for a lot of this and the fact they tend to grow quicker making them more profitable for commercial growers. The rest of it I attribute to modern life in the more developed parts of the world where we start training kids early that it's perfectly normal to sit in front of the computer, TV, Game Console for hours and hours and hours.

I know what you guys are saying... If i'm gonna just sit around the house and rest I don't wanna be stoned or I start thinking of things to do and next thing ya know I 'm working or building something.. Smoking makes me motivated most of the time.. I like hands on real life stuff walking in woods mushroom hunting, fishing , hunting working in gardens or yard.. In my mind a minuted wasted once added together are hours lost in the overall picture. Gotta keep up the momentum so that one day when your chance comes your up to speed and you can jump on it like a tiger rrrrrrr.... lol

I feel that socializing is important to gain knowlege of "self"(who we are as induviduals in society) refecting and meditating is important in this as well, but we are part of society whether we like it or not and social interaction helps put things in a frame of reference for me.
