five years is not a walk in the park! it's a real stretch but generally speaking, should not be the end of your world. mj cultivation mostly employs the nonviolent and those involved are groomed in the lifestyle over time so it's hard to say where "live free" gunslingers broke in? more than likely it's a bunch of hot air and if not, they really need to take those guns into some biz where the money is worthwhile.
