I've had this plan for years to get steel molds made to mint our own gold coins and place our prints on different sizes. Maybe we'll be able to accomplish this after the outdoor if it all works out. I'm thinking 1 oz coins and 1/2 oz coins. Of course I'll be on the 1 oz ones and Snypette will be on the 1/2 oz's.

Are you mixing all that by hand? Every farm need a tractor or at least a Cat. It would be worth the rental fee IMO.

So the plants spent their first night outside last night. This morning I got up early and rode the 4 wheeler half asleep to go check on them. and.. they all looked good! Temps were in the 40's last night. They looked happier than when I left them last night so they seem to be adjusting well. Hoping for no really cold nights now!

There was one thing I didn't really think about when I made all my guerilla plans. Ticks. I am not a bug person. The area that me and Snype cleared was infested with ticks. I thought about the bugs and said I'll just have to get over my only fear in life. But these fucking ticks are the nastiest bugs. I thought I hated spiders but now I'll take a spider any day over a tick. Then I have people telling me they try and go to your head or sometimes will go in your but crack ..
As you guys have seen, I have a lot of hair. I am going to wrap my whole head in plastic from now on. Cause seriously, me and Snype kept finding mad ticks on us. Most of them we found when they where still on our clothing thankfully.

I hate you ticks and I wish you would all die without messing up the food chain

LOL! Yepper Doo!
This is when all the ticks come out in New England. Its horrendous!
They are blood sucking vampiric little bastards! I always ducktape my pants around my ankles, and wear a hat. After you come from the patch, strip naked, check eachother thoroughly, and take a shower.
Thats how I make sure there are no ticks in my crickity.

its just not natural for creatures to have more than 6 legs that cant be dipped in butter....crabs are fine, all spiders, ticks and and stray decapods need to die!

if you guys can get or bring ducks/chickens/guineas/turkeys to that area they will eat a lot of the ticks. may not be possible or feasible to contain them there but it would help if somehow possible. just an idea. good luck

Earliest Tick season here since I moved out to the homestead....

I use a garlic based spray in the dog kennel and on my "bush suit"....Makes me reek like garlic but keeps the ticks away....sure doesn't help romancing the wife tho.... lol

I use the spray primarily for mosquitos, but discovered it works well for ticks by accident.

Mosquito-Less is the brand name

One of the dogs was also attacked by something and we had to follow a blood trail to find her. It must have been something big because this dog is vicious. She made it though it though and is fine now.

That sounds unusual....Any Idea of what the culprit maybe.
The wounds should give some indication....I'm glad your dogs o.k.

We had a hard time keeping chickens in the bush in Maine. Hawks, eagles from the air. Weasels, mink, otter, marten, fisher, raccoon, fox, coyote, wolf, on the ground. Are black flies out yet? They always peaked in late May. To someone who has never experienced black flies in the northern bush it cannot be described how they swarm and bite. Keep an eye out for late frost this year. We almost always had frost near June 1 depending on the moon. Good luck.
