I would recommend changing out the water between days 7-10 fresh water nutes without the super thrive. The st seems to induce Nubes but inhibited root growth. Once I changed out the water roots started exploding. Will be trying the grodan cube tutorial next.

That is one of the many issues with aeroponic cloning. Usually if it fails, they all die. Water temperature, light getting to the water, bacteria, etc.. Just the pump can overheat the water and cause problems. I had posted my tweeks to the process, where I get over 95% healthy clones with rockwool.

Agreed. I've had temps he 82 with the bleach and not had adverse effects but kinda a pita to set either up when only 6-12 clones are needed.

Have you tried replacing the chlorine bleach with hydrogen peroxide?

H2O2 is much safer, easier to use, inexpensive and when it breaks down you get water and O2.

Both are oxidizers and will serve the same purpose, however, the chlorine bleach adds to the dissolved ions in solution whereas the hydrogen peroxide does not.

Cheers!

Have you tried massive Bennies approach. My current system is pretty good. I find h202 can inhibit root formation at a certain level.

I like dip-n-grow for the hormone combo. I soak my Root Riot cubes in a Mix of ALL my bennies on da shelf. Then I sprinkle a little Great White right into the HOLE. Then I insert my Clones.

I also find that to avoid the first 24-48 hours wilting period a good soaking in water maybe even with a Little h2o2 with a couple of punctures to the stem with the razor or even very short vertical slices. This opens up the pores and allows a better draw from the moisture available in the Cube.

But sometimes this encourages laziness and I find myself letting them sit in water for too many days. I think right around 48 hours or at least overnight is good. I will keep experimenting to find the right timeline.

BTW also consider sterilizing the clone before the application of bennies i.e. all leaf and stem surfaces.

I also think some people run their cubes TOO dry. Even fully saturated these cubes hole plenty of air in my opinion. Let's face it though clone timeline is also strain dependent.

I quit aeroponic cloning when I came across a bizarre bleach resistant Cyanobacteria i.e. slime. Very weird stuff. I heard in can live in your pump. As you probably heard many people just replace their cloners at that point. I also found clearly a noticeable at least 5 days PLUS increased time for roots cloning with AERO!

I read about bleach resistant bacteria in hospitals 25 years ago. I never thought it would end up affecting growing cannabis.

The amazing thing is Lots of Beneficial Bacteria in the Cloning process protects and supports great ROot Development and never seems to adversely effect the Stem!
