Starting seed is so magical.Watching that little seed grow into a beautiful sticky and stinky plant to smoke. :)

I am very thankful to have the opportunity to grow this strain.
Thx to all that have maintained this strain and reproduced it.

I have 23 seed soaking in water now.
As soon as a taproot shows,I will put them in soil.
They will be started and finished indoors.

Also you can notice I got some extra white, green and cracked seeds, all extras.
The cracked seed looks like it germed on the plant under high humidity.
The bottom 11 seed all came from one bad pack.
The top 12 nice brown seed came from the other pack.
I was sent 23 seed in 2 packs.

All My Panama Seed

All My Panama Seed

Just some info for you all.
I ordered 4 packs of Panama.
The packs have a production date on them.
The 2 bad packs have the same date as each other. The 2 good packs have the same date as each other. There are 2 different dates.
I have too many white floaters to make me happy. There is also some green seed in this other pack too.
So I decided to do all my Panama seed at the same time. That would be 47 seed in total.
This will be a strain I plan on doing breeding with.
I want to breed only within this population.
So I want a good selection.

Good pack on left and bad on the right.

The seeds are just starting to crack now.
I have 2 seeds with red on the ends. They both cracked and are in soil.
I marked them as the red seeds so we can see how special they are.
Only 3 cracked so far.

I have 2 pcks of Panama in the vault I'm a little worried about now, mind sharing what date the white ones were?

The good seed packs on the left are dated 25/07/11.
The bad seed packs on the right are dated 14/03/11.

I also talked to dubi and was assured the bad seed would be replaced with fresh seed. :)
I am happy now and the good vibes are flowing.
This is also my first Ace strain.

It is cold here and seeds germ slower now.
Today a total of 9 seeds have cracked and are in soil.
These seeds would benefit from a scuff or a rub.
Some seed appeared to have trouble breaking the shell.
It may have been just the white seed that was weak.
I do not scuff my seed.I only want strong healthy seedlings that can breakout on their own.
Accept the best and nothing less.

I keep thinking about those red seeds. They must be special.
I could only find 2 seed with red ends out of over 40 seed.
It looked like a circle of red at the base of the seed.
There was also one very tiny seed that cracked.I marked it tiny seed. :)

You will love the plants and the smoke if you are like me. Glad to hear the bad seeds are replaced. I have had only good luck with my dealings with ACE and Cannabiogen.

You might want to go easy on the nutes with these, I burned mine with some guano.

I just bought a pack of Cannabiogen Panama and was surprised by the lack of uniformity of the seeds.

this is a little worrisome since these are on my wish list...

i hope these immature looking seeds are viable or they get removed from stock...

I don't know why seed quality is so poor sometimes.
I don't understand how some seed could be sent out to people.
The bad thing is some seed purchases are a final sale.No hope for replacement.

the seeds may be made outdoor, the march date would have been grown over winter, maybe explains the difference in seed due to lower light than a fall seedcrop...im sure charlie woudnt sell immature seed.:)

18 germed so far.I should get around 25 from the 2 good packs.
The rest will be compost.I don't want any plants that come from white seed like that.
They will be weak plants.
I will put the last few in a tray of soil and see what comes up in a week or 2.

Light seeds are imature. They have a hard time getting going. Generally speaking they were harvested too early. And just like a human that is born or brought out too early, they will have difficulties getting going. But once they are going they have the same genetic potential to grow into good plants as any other seed. Just like premature babies can lead normal healthy lives.

Do what you want. They are your seeds. Try not to send your friends imature seeds as they have poor germ and survival rate generally. But once they get going they could be some of your very best plants.

Best of luck with the grow!

Maybe you misunderstood me.I will explain it better.
All the remaining seed,29 in total including the white seed, are in a tray of soil.I will leave them there for another week or 2.
After this they will become compost.Good seed germinates and bad seed rots.
Any white seed I have every done grows into weak plants,if it grows at all.
I don't like to grow them, nor would I ever sell them.I would not pay cash for white seed or support any breeder who sells poor quality seed.
I will let you grow white seed, while I grow mature seed.
I am happy these will be replaced,as they should be.

The issue of bad seed being sold to people needs to be corrected.
We are all in this together.
Just look at the seed before it is sent out, simple.

No seedlings up as of yet.I keep watching.

First Up

First Up

Now the fun begins.

Panama 3 is the first to see the light.
This is 1 of 2 red seeds.
You can notice some roots forming on the front of the stalk.
Looks strong and healthy.
