Flowering in and out

Flowering in and out

No worries about the plants being eaten as they've recovered and no sign of thrips since i sprayed. The weather was great last week with sun and temps around 30 but they got a battering on Thursday as there was enough rain to cause some local flooding. The GC is looking the worse for wear but the lilly and SM are fine, the flowers on the lilly are more advanced and what i get will be very decent by the looks of it - just not much of it! The SM is looking promising and as long as it stays dry it should be ok but as always a few days of sun is needed to eek out the potential but unfortunatley the sun is weak from now on in my part of the world!
I flipped the indoor plants on Thursday so count today as the first day of flowering and I'm cutting it fine for the 2 sats to be done for xmas as that is 13 weeks away. i tied the 2 sats down 9 days ago and then topped when they were pointing in the right direction and they are off and running and i (less aggressively) tied the pp down just to give the lower branches a chance to grow.
I'm really happy with them and now the mini heatwave is over (which my new climate controlled 'stealthhyper' coped well with) they can now crack on apace. I'll make some comfrey feed over the next 2 weeks as i have a feeling the sats will need it 5-6 weeks down the line. I'm certain the sat at the back in the last pic is maalwi dom and the other in the foreground is def different so I'm looking forward to see what i get.

Lilly flowers developing

Snow Moon main cola and the pair, 3-4 weeks away i reckon.

Indoor very start of 12/12 (well, 13/11)

Tvm and here's hoping for a dry 3 weeks!

You need to crop Lilly very early for the best effect and smell, Mario, I think, from Delicatessen prefers it at about 47 days of flowering if I remember right...

Yes, Lilly is an early girl for sure. I'm unfamiliar with outdoor, but I'd begin sampling at around day 50 or so to see where your sweetspot is.

Hi fellers, thanks for the advice. The thing is that 'day 50' indoor or even outdoor in Spain etc bears little relation to 'day 50' in blighty - things always take a bit longer as essentially there is only 4-5 hours of 'useful' sun from about the start of Sep! We are prob about day 50 now and there is no way I'm harvesting that and as usual it's a case of hoping things are ready enough before mould and or frosts take hold. i can only do that by looking at the trichs and the general appearance of the plant.
I def think lilly is viable for outside grows here, despite it being so small, and doing it again I'd put them out earlier and prob not bend them as all that did was lose me 6 inches.

It's all a learning curve fella :)
The other thing to bear in mind is that cuttings tend to finish earlier than plants from seed, so for next year if you can go down that route, you might find you gain a week or two for finishing quicker.

The thing with growing outside here is that there are so many things that can go wrong that are beyond one's control that imo you have to accept that and get on with it or do everything you can to mitigate it. It's just a bit of fun for me and i usually use suitable free (crappy) seeds as if it goes tits up then so what but thought I'd try some proper genetics this time as oppose to the generic freebies.
I know this is sacrilege but I decided early on that I'm not really ever going to breed and so spend my resources (from winning on the horses!) in building up a seed collection that is way too big. I'll happily leave it up to the experts such as Dubi to spend their time and resources in perfecting the genetics as oppose to what would be the result if i tried.
The lilly will be ready first and i've already seen enough (and trust others opinion that the smoke will be decent) that anybody looking to grow sat doms in the UK should take a look at this. The height could be down to any number of things - there are 4 main colas that should all yield ok, there just won't be lots of 'extras'. I'll almost certainly hash all but the premium buds and make tinctures for my sister who has MS with the results.

Hi Bruce - everything is harvested, the lilly was done in the last week of Sep/1st Oct which is the earliest I've harvested anything. I'm really pissed off with myself as for once I took some good close up pics of her as she is def the frostiest plant I've grown outside but like a dick I seem to have got rid of them and some other of the harvest pics.
I've tested her and I def get the pina colada vibe and she vapes well. I got bang on an ounce and the plan is to hash it when the others are dry, which will be very soon. She would pass my quality control for use as is which most outside stuff doesn't (in this case a begger can be a chooser!). I think I'll get about 2 each off the other 2 and the Snow moon has a distinctive - almost acrid - smell.
I'll salvage what pics i can and try to take some close up of the dried bud but i always make things look really crap in close up which is why I'm pissed off about losing the pics!. I'll give a full update within the week.
