GTH#1 E and F

..i think they all should be fine in about 2 weeks, more or less..
F seems to be more hazey and longer flowering, but she smells also absolutely fantastic.
from the nose, A and F are my favorites so far.

They sure do take off in stretch don't they.

I'll be putting in 3 more GTH #1 from a different mother for comparison in the next few days, so I'm hoping one of these two will be a keeper.

Did you defoliate your plants at all, or was that their natural structure throughout? Your Ghost Train plants all look like they had nice light penetration and airflow.

yes, i got rid of the big fans over the first 3-4 weeks of 12/12.

..i use to pull some leaves here and there when i check the plants, but don´t defoliate all at once..if you check your plants everyday, you see which leaves to pull and which not.

i try to pull the leaves in a way, that allows me to see also the lowest branches/buds when i watch at the canopy, so i mainly remove leaves in the shadow of upper leaves.

i do never remove any productive growth (only in veg when topping etc..), by defoliating i get nice nugs with great calyx/leaf ratio also on the lowest branches. lollipopping is more for ScroG, imo..

ps. you´ll surely have a keeper from your 4 different GTH#1´s.
..plant A is really killer, her fuely OG undertone is becoming more present now and mixes up with a incredible pungent citric funk..very good! i would say she´ll also yield the most, think i push her to 75+ days..

pps. i took cuttings from #A and #C at day 45 which rooted through a coco jiffy in only 14 days. they were in full flower, but are growing again nicely so that i can put them under 12/12 almost instant after harvest..: )

Thanks for the journal subrovka. I've been lurking and watching that GTH#1 of yours and thinking about getting a pack. If you can, a smoke report would be appreciated once they are dry.

Do you run the UV bulb daily for the entire flower cycle or just the last few weeks?
Does it really make a difference for you?

..smoke report will follow! also i´m gonna report the second round from clones with the keeper pheno soon.

the UV-B supplemental is daily at 90min from the beginning of 12/12.
especially with sativas or NLD but in general for drug typed cannabis UV-B is beneficial for THC synthesis of the plants.
it matures faster and has more potency imo. but most of the cfl´s or tubes are not very usefull, they aren´t strong enough to gain effect.
metal-vapor beamer is the way to go, plants can handle very high doses of UV-B. they love it ; )

I notice in all your flowers the pistils have fully receded. I usually see this on a strain by strain basis, but none of my GTH 1 showed this tendency. Do you think the uv-b light has any effect on this?
Lemme know if you lab test your GTH 1 keepers, I'd love to compare! Great grow report!

Good to hear it works for you. I have tried the cfl type uvb bulbs and wasn't satisfied. After reading your post I searched and found some of the 160watt mercury vapor bulbs. So I will probably give those a try. Thanks.

..i decided to keep A, B and C for another round, as i wanna compare them one more time and finally maybe select one keeper. A and C is already reveged and starts to shoot branches, B will need few more weeks to reveg..

when it comes to the potency, it´s probably important to know that i´m smoking daily about 1-2g in average. i usually smoke flowers in the bong, sometimes hash (dry-sift) but i´m not used to extracts, dabbing and so..

A is very fuely with hints of lemon, the smell reminds me really much of diesel oil, but anyhow sweeter. no typical haze smell. A and C have both good potency but no couch lock stoney kind of high, it´s more uplifting. the sativa effects are dominant on all three „selected“ plants. B was the strongest buzz, but also more uplifting and still a good daytime smoke. she isn´t the strongest yielder but also not too bad and the flavour is really nice, could be compared to a good lemon haze. it´s more citrus, not that candy lemon flavour i´m used to from my lemon OG. very pleasant smoke!
i try to give a more detailed smoke report after the next round : )

yes i also noticed this, especially in B and E were absolutely no more pistills noticeable after 70 days. they shrink to really tiny strings when ripening.
i read that UV-B may cause earlier ripening, so it could have something to do with the UV-B supplementation. but i guess the main reason for this appearance is genetics, as it´s much more pronounced on some phenotypes (in my case on B and E)…unfortunately i have no option for lab testing but i would assume B as the highest in THC..

I did a sixpack of them last round and run a similar pheno to yours the second time at the moment. It grows, yields and looks great, is really potent too, but there is barely any smell to it...

I've got two phenos right now and one of them sounds just like your A pheno, very fuely with some citrus hints. The other is super lemony, almost reminds me of some super lemon haze I ran back years ago. Perhaps very similar to your lemony B pheno.

Here's a shot of the fuely pheno 6.5 weeks in flowering.

The lemon pheno is only 3 weeks into flowering so I'll hold off on pics for a bit while she matures a tad

the #2 had no terps like yours too, only the #1 pheno was kind of lemon OG but i have already a outstanding lemon OG from DNA genetics in my selection so i didn´t keep her..

I've got two phenos right now and one of them sounds just like your A pheno, very fuely with some citrus hints. The other is super lemony, almost reminds me of some super lemon haze I ran back years ago. Perhaps very similar to your lemony B pheno.

The lemon pheno is only 3 weeks into flowering so I'll hold off on pics for a bit while she matures a tad

A, B and C were the best phenos..B is a super lemon haze like pheno and A is the more fuely one like you said and C is kind of a mix of both and has a really nice bud structure. i recommend you to give it a good cure and it will blow your mind, for me the favourite pheno is the B!

edit: i didn´t notice your picture back then..your GTH#1 looks killer, i like the heavy resinous fan leaves and the bud structure, reminds me of my A pheno but maybe even frostier!

i have reveged the GTH´s and i´m gonna update this thread soon : )

defoliation is a common technique, especially when grown in limited space like indoors it helps to get a deeper light penetration and a better airflow through the canopy which can lead to higher yields and less risk of molds in the end of flower. however, opinions differ on that topic and it also depends on the strain how much and when to defoliate to maximize yields. if the plants is still more lanky and airy, defoliation may not be necessary but if you look at the canopy and see leaves where actually buds could grow, it´s probably not the worst idea to remove some..

ps. unfortunately i lost the B pheno..had no more space for revegging in my veg-tent and put it on the balcony and when i was absent a few days it wrecked in the heat..fuck it..
so i revegged the A (fuely) and C (lemon) pheno successfully and put it into flower today.
lately my camera wrecked also and i use no smartphone which i could take pics with. i´m gonna have a new, better cam available in about 3 weeks and start to report the second round with the GTH#1´s. see ya soon : )

Thanks for thinking my GTH#1 looks killer. Here is a nug shot at day 65. I actually just brought them down on day 75 this past weekend. Could have easily come down sooner, but what the hell.

If you think this phenotype is resinous, you should see my lemon phenotype. Holy moly, it looks white. I'll post some pics up her her soon.
