I like to think I eat anything, a Frenchman eats snails so why not you, much of this wild food is by far better for you than anything you can get at a drive thru, yes its an acquired taste but so is human meat, cat or dog, or burger and fries is too

so we could just go to the junkyard and find some old speakers and rip them apart and take the copper wire and use ?

and are copper not toxic when it starts to tear down ?

if theres a lot of slugs the live ones will just crawl over the dead ones to get to the plant.ive even had slugs crawl up plants nearby and then fall on the pot plant to avoid a copper ring.i tried copper years ago when i was 1st growing and only grew outdoors.ive found woodashes to work the best because you can be liberal with how much you put down.if its a wet spring or your grow is near moisture then there will be tons of slugs ime.they just crawl over the dead to get a meal.

Those saying to use copper have the ticket. Snails and slugs refuse to crawl across copper. You can buy copper tape in varying widths. People tack it around the sides of wooden planters to keep out slimy slitherers. You could use the wide tape and make little plates to fit around the base of each plant. The wire idea sounds inexpensive. Have a jar of pennies in the house?

Or get a duck.

I make a 6" circle of any copper (scrap) wire. Slugs are bad in my area and I don't remember pulling any off last year.
