Smokahontas' Himalaya + La Blanca PC Grow

hm, so an autoflower shows sex and then goes right into flowering? Because this la blanca no doubt has showed her sex for 3 weeks and she has not made the slightest trichomes.

The himalaya is looking SICK though.

Like I said, I think I am going to switch to 12/12 in 2 weeks or so.

What would this do in terms of my himalaya which will be on day 56 or so by then. The himalaya is truly looking starting to look like a freak. I would say that 50% of her calyxes have remarkably turned amber already. I feel like i could harvest her today and be happy. But I cant wait to see what a few weeks would do to her buds.

and skotty, i think you should reserve your thoughts on the strain until you see what kind of buds she can make. yes it is a shame that this isnt a true auto, but if it is a true widow cross we could be in for a snowy winter.

im sure la blanca will perform when she does flower but the fact she aint a true auto is a kick in the nuts in some respects mainly because its sold as an auto strain on a positive note though this means she will lean more towards her original strain and be ubber potent so you could say every cloud has a silver lining :)

ive never had white widow before as it mainly cheese dominated around my area although i have had some nice trainwreck in the last couple of weeks, at least your not in my postion of a 9 week veg in hydro lol she is a beauty though ;)

peace

How long do himalayas usually go, because she is already making some very nice buds at day 37, I would imagine that I am on pace for the himalaya to be done around day 65 (one more month) to take a rough estimate.

What would happen if the himalaya had around two more weeks to go and I changed the lights to 12/12 in order to flower my la blanca if it is getting too big? Would this fuck up my bud production? Or would it be best to just let the himalaya live her life at 16/9, and then flower the la blanca once the himalaya is done? I really want some potent stuff.

ok maybe my question wasn't clear.

I am leaving my place for vacation on christmas day (Dec 25). I started my La blanca on september 15, the himalaya started on september 18 or so. Therefore, my Himalaya (auto) is on day 45 or so, and la blanca around day 50.

The himalaya has been flowering for at least 4-5 weeks and the la blanca has just showed sex since day 20 or so. I want the la blanca to finish in time for when i leave december 25. I want to take the himalaya to around day 60 which would be in two weeks on november 16th.

Is there time for me to finish flowering the la blanca from november 16th to the 25th of december?

My light cycle is currently on 17/7 with four 23 watt 2700k lights.

What would happen if I changed the lights in a week or so to 6500k and the light cycle to 12/12 to flower the la blanca, and I left the himalaya in there for one to two weeks.

Would it screw up the himalaya auto to go into a flowering 'environment' after it was under the current conditions?

Thanks

you say the la blanca showed sex at day 20, but has it been flowering the following 30 days?
or has it kept vegging on 17/7?

You wont harm the hbd switching to 12/12 now, but it will probably yield less than if you left it getting 17 hours of light a day

the la blanca showed sex around day 20 and has been vegging on 17/7 since it sprouted.

If the hbd is not affected, then I am going to change the bulbs/light cycle. Because I want to give that la blanca plenty of time when she flowers too.

If I change the lights on November 14th hypothetically, the himalaya will be at day 56 or so and the la blanca at day 60. The la blanca would then have another 40 days on the flower light schedule to finish her flower until december 25th when I leave. The himalaya would be on a 12/12 light cycle with 6500k lights at day 56, and I will probably take it to day 65 or so.

Please tell me if there is something else I should try doing

Heres some pics to hopefully entice a few responses.

Like I said, it is unbelievable how far along the himalaya is for only 45 days old. It is further along then my lowryder was at day 60 no question. There are zero white calyxes on most of the colas, some of the lower, developing branches still have white calyxes, but the top cola(s) have some very dark trichomes, borderline purple like I said, with a few red hairs poking out of some buds that are really starting to swell up.

My plan is to take the leave these 4x23 watt 2700k lights on the current cycle until November 14th, when the la blanca is 60 days old and the himalaya is 56. I am going to change the lights/cycle for the last 10 days of the himalayas life until November 24th when it will be 65 days. Hopefully 40 days will be enough time to flower the la blanca.

Are there any gurus out there who know if 40 days flowering from november 14th to december 25th will be enough time to make a potent la blanca?

The pics are pretty obvious as to which is the la blanca and which is the himalaya. You can see how I bent the colas on the scrog screen so there would be more bud exposure to the lights.

la blanca is new and not many people are growing her out so nobody knows for definate how long she will take to flower, you will just have to let her run her course and harvest when she is ready

hope this helps

i took my himalaya's one at 70 days and one at 77 days took my onyx one at 70 one at 77 and one at 84 days, the 84 turned from sweet smell to slightly skunky and this one was my biggest yeilder at 26.5 grams that was also in a 3 gallon grow bag, la blanca i have not grown out yet but if they were the tudes freebies they did not have the auto la blanca available yet, i think they were giving their 2nds and 3rd's away while trying to stable the auto genes, you might think about adding some 2700k spectrum to the mix as this helps bud development, jmho

so if the light in my pc case has 4 available sockets for 23 watt lights, what combo of 2700k and 6500k should I do. And is switching a 12/12 from a 17/7 cycle going to stimulate flowering? This is my first time with a non-auto.

cfl lights need to be red when flowering which is 2700k although i found that autos can also be vegged under the red spectrum, a regular strain needs to be 12/12 when you put it into flower

when you put a plant into 12/12 it has more time to build up her flowering hormones in the dark period which is what triggers them to flower, thats why veg is 18/6 20/4 because it doesnt give the plants enough time to build up the hormones needed to flower

however with true autos the need for the light cycle change is removed and its more to do with the age of the plant than the actual light cycle itself

hope this helps

yeah I accidently confused the two. Right now I have four 23 watt 6500k lights in. I will switch to 2700k when I flower. I am going to go to 12/12 light cycle. My question is, should I do all 4 lights 2700k or a combo with 6500k?

some people will argue that you should do a 70 - 30 split of red and blue but id just go with all red, as i stated above plants can be vegged and flowered on red cfl lights alone

here is a pic of a plant under a red cfl and 1 under a dual spec cfl in veg, the one on the left is under dual spec and the one on the right is under red spec, both plants are the same strain

I changed the lights today. I left the light second to the furthest right at 6500k. So I have

(27)(27)(65)(27). Cycle is 12/12.

I only have 7 weeks from when I changed the lights until December 24th when I leave for vacation. Is it considered flowering once I change the light cycle or once hair or made? I am starting to feel like I wont have enough time to finish. Can someone comment on this.

I have exactly 7 weeks from when I changed the lights on November 5th to 12/12. What would happen if I changed the lights to say 10/14 in 4 weeks. Would this speed up the process?? I noticed that there are now multiple hairs growing where the hairs that show sex are. Does this mean flowering?

you cant rush nature mate as i stated above they will take 8-9 weeks to flower this is what the breeders recommened , so hold tight

the problem is that im leaving for winter vacation from my college to go home for a month. I dont have a choice. Ill probably have to chop it early.
