Small dehumidifier recommendations?

I have a 3x3x6 tent in about a 10x10 room just circulating air through the tent to the room through a carbon filter.

I'm sitting at 53 percent humidity in the grow tent but that air is circled out to the room ( I havent checked humidity outside the tent but I'm sure it's close to the same, will tomorrow.)

Can anyone recommend a dehumidifier for the room outside the tent? Or what to look for? I know autorestart would be a good feature incase power went off. I'm also available almost always to drain it. Not going away for more than 2 days at a time and has to be available in Canada and hopefully good price.

Thanks!

I can't recommend a specific one, but I highly recommend spending the extra to get one of the heavier duty ones that can output to a hose. Another 15-20$ for a 5 gallon bucket, a hose, and some way to connect the hose to the bucket means you don't have to move the whole thing to empty it, just remove the lid to the bucket and pour where needed. Mine goes from my dehumidifier, to a hose that came with it for drainage, to a faucet like this https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ray-Pad...arden-Hose-Shut-Off-Adapter-RP-SIPB/205916898 then that is connected to one of these https://www.homedepot.com/p/Orbit-Male-Metal-Quick-Connect-27959/205474051 I drilled a hole in the lid of the bucket and just popped the metal nub in. I'll try to get a picture in the morning, but right now my humidifier is setup cause winter here is stupid dry. The dehumidifier gets turned on in the spring through summer.

53% is not bad at all. Unfortunately cheap dehumidifiers suck and the good ones are expensive. I can't imagine that a small tent grow during a Canadian winter would have humidity issues as long as you're exchanging the air in the tent often enough. Maybe just crack a window open a bit.

Thanks guys
I just dont want to run into any mold issues. I'm just starting flowering now but thought i needed to get it down to about 40 percent by the end of flower.
I'm just hoping it doesnt get higher than 53 when the plants get bigger with buds.

That's what everyone says but I think it's way overkill. I wouldn't worry about humidity until the last couple of weeks of flower, and only if it went over 65. I don't see any reason to go below 50 at any time. Just keep the air moving and I think you'll be okay. If you crack a window during lights on and keep the door open to the room I wouldn't worry at all. If you're running your furnace then as long as you keep exchanging air when the lights go off, I don't think that the temp drop/humidity rise would be big enough to cause problems.

Don't do the wet towel thing, I think trout maybe smoked too much malawi :D You should be okay in the 50 range. You wanna try to lower a bit, ~40 during the last half of flower, mostly to hold off any mildew/mold, and I believe the plants "resin up" if it gets dryer, but only up to a point, don't go dropping it to 10% or anything silly :D

Once I paid retail, once I paid $50 for one off Craigslist.

Both worked about the same.

Then tend to raise temps a lot, which increases humidity. I find it works better to use them in "pulses", a 1/2 hour at a time, 2 or 3 times during lights on.

I opened the door for 2 minutes and the humidity went down to 42. This might be the trick -- leaving the door cracked or open.
I cant see myself spending over 300 for a 2 plant tent grow, yikes.

Thanks

As previously stated... I didn't buy it for my tent but for my house. SO, it has a dble use. I'm frugal, not cheap. IOW I get the best bang for my buck on everything I purchase. <--- read not necessarily cannabis related.

Unless you need to recycle (for some reason) the air, your exhaust fan needs to discharge outdoors. To control the majority of my RH and temp issues by controlling the exhaust fan speed.

It's a 3x3 tent. His entire house is a big lung room. Exhausting to the outdoors at this time of year is overkill and a huge waste of money, he'd be heating his home only to blow it all outside.

I'm trying to get away without venting outside, I know not ideal. I figure the air from the window cracked and under the door might be enough.

I may change my mind though and have to construct some sort of mount for the window (I'm using 6 inch ducting).

Haha I'm trying to post once or twice a day. I've been meaning to PM you aswell about mainlining next round. ( doing 2 grows this winter, too hot in summer).

Give me a few to 10 days and I'll be in your inbox lol.

Just get through this crop and you'll see that it's no problem, I promise. Move the air and keep humidity under 60 during late flower and you won't have mold or mildew. It's not as complicated as many would have you believe.
