Small cookies buds

Anyone else have problems running cookies? I get super small buds 95% of the time. Once in awhile out of nowhere a plant will put off all good sized buds even though all of the rest of the plants on the table (same strain, same res) have really small buds. I'm running gh nutes (Lucas at 4/8) and dropping all the way to 2/4 helps a bit but isn't a perfect solution.... Especially since any other strain I run gets deficient at that strength.

Just looking for ideas and to see if others have had this problem with gsc.

my cookies like to be root bound when they are flipped for bigger buds.
I top a couple of times. they don't like cold temps in my garden.

large or small still my favorite.

these forums at 45 days and I'm happy with them so far.

Forum, the flavor and euphoric buzz are hard to beat.

OGKB 2.0 does beat it though and yields better too,
3 gallons soil, 3 zips and a cup.

I've seen lots of varieties from more arid origins get micro nugs syndrome due to lock out from sitting a bit wet from temperature or just overwatering... Potassium does not help...

Haven't got to flower my cookies yet, but with some of the Kushes for sure adding a lot more perlite, and easing back on pro silicate and potassium based additives has brought our number of small nug plants from 10-15 percent to almost never.more cal-mg seems to help too.

Helpful post, thanks man. I agree that more of any nute doesn't fix it. I've had luck using very low ec (.7) but I know others who can feed normal strength and do better still which leads me to look at environment. You suggested root zone staying too wet... I'm in rockwool and feed three times a day about two minutes each time. Blocks stay wet but far from soaked. I dunno, something to look at at the least.

Buds look great, more or less the size of my good plants with the forum pics.

No those are the size of my GOOD ones... 95% of the plants don't yield good sized buds. The small buds are great quality, I actually just won first place at a small event with them. But the yield is so bad... Lb a light max usually less and as low as a half. It's the only strain I struggle with and I know it's something I'm doing, just don't know what. Not really expecting to get the answer here, just hoping for some new ideas.

you say it gets better when you drop to half strength. looks like you might be overfeeding.
Yeah but they don't show the normal signs like tip burn. Also ec is normally 1.5... That's pretty light and I know others that run higher and don't get tiny nugs. It's hard to explain on the internet... I have a larger garden and everything is normally dialed. This one strain just drives me crazy.... Sometimes buds are big, normally not. Conditions in the grow room are always the same or close to.

For us it was a combo of the medium holding too much moisture and potassium overdose causing lock outs, in turn we flushed lots and got ph problems....

With rockwool I would be first suspect Ph... I think they might be more stable fed more often as the Ph is not optimal and probably swings through out the cycle...

If some plants are doing better then you are close to right if they are all fed the same and in same room... We were trying to fix problems caused by ph swing like, cal/mg lock out and micro deficiencies..with potassium silicate... Kept them lush green but micro nugs...

Try using more base nutes with less additives, especially really high in potassium, and adding a decent amount of cal/mg instead. I would maybe ask some other rockwool growers but in my memory they didn't hold too much water... Maybe you could feed every hr and get better ph at the roots.

Good ideas, thanks man. Already keep additives to a minimum but what I will look at is the pH. Normally keep it around 5.5 but that could be too low with three waterings a day. Might bump it to 5.7 and see how they do
