If it's really a problem, try a water cure to get some of the harsh out.

distilled water bath, soak for 24 hours...drain...new water for 24 hours...drain...air dry as usual. Takes seemingly forever, but gets most of the chems and green/harsh taste out.

That looks like the stuff I was getting before I joined the Army. I won't mention prices, but it was some primo "skunk".
