Yea the smaller pot would keep the plant from growing but would also severely hamper yeild!!!I would not go that route...I would use a bending(plant manipulation)technique to keep height down..
I have a thread that discusses it in more detail..
I'll see if I can dig it up..

Yea, I'm curantly using a lot of topping/training on my currant CFL grow, I just like the idea of letting them grow free, I was thinking of basicaly SOGing, if each plant only yeilds a 1/4, but I have 16 plants, 4oz of haze is plenty for me!

Oh, and I also read someware that small containers can sometimes help long flowering sativas finnish up a bit faster. But I'm open to all ideas...
