Single large exhaust fan for multiple flower tents??

What’s up IC!?

Hope your all doing well. We recently signed a contract on a new house and I’m in the midst of trying to plan out my grow room.

I’ve been all over the board with how I want to do it. Was considering a 4’x8’ flower tent with a mother tent and separate veg tent for a minute, but I think I’m starting to settle on the idea of having three separate flower tents.

A 4x4, a 3x3, and a 2x2. Mainly because I already have the 3x3 and 2x2 but also because I like the idea of having separate flowering chambers running at the same time.

In considering ventilation, I’m wondering if I could get away with a single large 8” exhaust fan mounted in the room, pulling from 6” duct on the 4x4, 6” duct on the 3x3, and 4” duct on the 2x2. The 8” fan is rated at 807 cfm. Obviously I would be using reducers to go from the 8” down to the 6” and 4” duct respectively.

It’s either that, or go with individual 6” fans for the 4x4 and 3x3, and a 4” fan on the 2x2 all pushing out to a single 8” exhaust.

The second option would give me more control Over each tents environment obviously, But the first option would be more cost affective by far.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

As I sit here writing this, I’m guessing individual exhaust fans for each tent, separately, is the way to go.... but wouldn’t mind hearing everyone’s thoughts on the matter. TIA :tiphat:

I would say a fan for each tent. Check out ac infinity, they have a really nice line of blowers. They come with a temp, humidity, and speed controller. They are a little pricey, but I like them, way quieter than traditional blowers. Plus it eliminates the need for controllers, and temp, humidity monitors.

With the price of all the reducers and such, I doubt you would save much over buying one multiple blowers.

Coincidentally enough those are the fans I was planning on using. I have the cloud line T4 on a 2x2 now, and was looking at either two more T6’s or just buying the single 807 cfm T8 but.... as you say I think separate blowers probably is the way to go, all feeding into a single 8” duct (or maybe even a 6” would be fine I’m not sure.
