Oh, the humanity!

Pet stores will gouge you for $5 a lb. Check Ebay for a guy named thirdmillenium. $1.99 plus shipping (approx $2.35 delivered to your door.)

I just set my fan on my filter, no obvious leaks. Im going to wrap it 2x with gorilla tape to make sure before heavy flowering, be careful with those things tho those flexible elbows leak a ton, none of these parts are really welded they just kinda solder them together so theres always creases, which kinda defeats the purpose. big roll of gorilla tape is $9.... the connectors come in handy when you want to use duct clamps as well.

I love those connectors and they DO NOT leak at all and actually hold tight to the fan and filter where there is pretty much no way they are coming apart.
Mine looks like it is "blown up" in the middle, but what that is from is that the coupling's inner diameter is a little bit larger than the diameter of the fan and the filter and when you tighten down the clamps it it makes it look like it is bulging out in the middle.

the reason i used a 3" coupler is because the 4" didn't fit. something to do with the different inner/outer diameters of the pipes it was intended for and the practical application.
