Shroomys cloning in vermiculite tek

thanks shroomy, got all the stuff to give it a go,will be using cfl's, cut some today, set it and forget it, thats what i want, i worry to much about cloning, hope this works for me , take some of the worry out thanks again mate!!!

finally can show off a little of what i was able to pull off on this absolute shamble of a grow season

not the biggest harvest but will last me , my brother and the old man for a month or 2 when i take down the other plants as well

The reason Vermiculite works and works best is because: of all media, it holds the most oxygen. Far more than Perlite, coco or any other commonly used and reasonably available material . . . and as we all know, oxygen is absolutley key when cloning.

I've read several technical papers on the use of verm. and one really good one in particular, which, of course, I now can't find to refer folks to. Info's on the Net 'tho.

Anyway, the paper/study basically says that vermiculite holds so much oxgen you almost don't need to worry about drowning clones with too much H2O -- you could practilcaly grow them underwater. That doesn't mean they grow best or root fastest that way. Also, adding anything else simply diminishes the effectiveness -- even a perlite/vermiculite mix came in second best in this university (was it CalTech?) study.

Simple and cheap -- I like that . . .

A good friend of mine sent me a write up similar to the you are talking about about 5 weeks ago but I cant find it on my hard drive atm... it was 2 pages long and was a great read

Tried it and it worked with 100% succes rate, and I've tried rockwool, aero, soil in the past all to no avail.

I put an air pump and a heater in as well.

It’s funny I stumbled across this thread. I have had trouble cloning MJ in the past with other mediums and methods. I recently cloned some orange mint in a very similar set up to yours with vermiculite but with cups, much like a previous poster above tried.

I'll have to try this with MJ.

I only drilled one hole in the middle of each ice pole holder, I think any more holes would be a waste of time and energy as the verm wicks the water as the plant needs it, no point over watering it all that will do is cause root rot.
