Hey Me$$iah,
I use a 150 HPS for flowering, and a combination of 45w(soft white) cfl, 2 3ft T5's(cool white) for veg. The picture was of the mother plant, so I would say veg about 30+ days. I am trying to get a perpetual harvest going, just working on the timing and method right now. I usually clone and keep a clone vegging for about 30 days or so before she gets tossed into the flower room. My flower room as you see is not real big, about 3 x 1.5 x 3-4 ft. high.

Here is a pic. of Chronic I ran not too long ago under the 150 about 30 days in.

this is a based on the long known theory that in the wild MJ only needs 6 hours of light each day to flower properly. Any knowledgable outdoor grower can atest to this. I cant see why this same concept wouldnt work indoors too.

I have been wanting to try this head-to-head with a 12/12 grow for comparison.

This is what I would love to do as well DJ_highst just don't have the room right now, but after personally doing the 6on 12 off, I would say a dialed in grow using the 6on 12 off schedule would give a 12/12 grow a run for the money. Hope to get more room soon.

sheesh yourself Smart Guy, try it out for yourself then act important. The main theory behind this scedule was to have a higher yearly yeild through increased productivity not get baked faster. If you need some weed that fast go buy some or cut early.

Dude go get laid, stop being an angry person on the internet
I wasnt "acting important", I dont even know how to act important, or what I said gave you that impression, but anyways - stop being angry - laugh a little (aren't you high????)
^^and by the way, the DJ guy agrees with me, dont be a prick, lightin up and light up!

After reading a lot of posts on this subject and after following Cosmic's grow log... it seems it doesn't really speed it up as much as people think. It does go faster though, but you're only saving a week maybe... not sure it's worth the trouble. And if you get less yield, why is 1 week less worth less yield? It isn't, not to me atleast.

I would however still like to try back to back grows of 6/12 and 12/12 eventually though, it's hard to know for sure what works til you do it yourself.

ezbake - i've done this schedule before and was just giving my thoughts on it and then you sheeshed me like my opinion didn't matter, like you knew more about it than me. Take your own advice man, peace :smoweed:

this schedule is sacraficing yeild for speed so i don't see how a crop can be comparable but over the course of a year is the theory. It might work if the original plant stretch has 12/12 instead of 6/12.

What hospitable outdoor location has only 6 hours of light? I'm not a outdoor grower, could you please elaborate. thanx for the info.

a 150? fucking sweet bro... doesn't look as dense as it could be, but sure as hell worth cutting it a few weeks early!

I think the 30+ days veg really helpedd too...

peace, i'm doing this time regiment now, things looking good, my question is how much of a decrease in yield did u suffer whizzard? if the decrease isn't too substantial and u can get a coupla more harv's per year isn't that a good thing?

I can't really say how much of a difference there is using this schedule as I have not run the same strain side by side to compare, yet. Not enough room right now.

I wouldnt suggest doing the 18 hour 40 minute day time cycles...
This guy did a grow log on it, and when he first started he was saying it'd be so much faster, and once he did it, everybody was saying his plants were immature for the day they were (according to 18h40m day, not 24h day). So it really doesn't speed it up that much... and if you think it's worth cutting out 5 hours of light everyday just for a couple days ... ok then thats up to you, but I decided not to and I'd advise against it.

i'll add meself to the list of stoners that wood luv to see a side by side show.
i also gotta say whiz, a lid an a half per with a 150 hps in 60 days is almost unbelievable. those were the numbers? rite?

I believe he said a half a zip. Which is pretty disgusting. I would be utterly pissed if i had to put up with that ridiculous schedule and end up with 2 zones from my 600 watter. Especially after 30 days of veg'ing.
I would also love to see a controlled comparison nonetheless. I've heard of the six hour theory myself.

Funny how this topic seems to come around about the same time each year? Looking back on it, I think the traditional 12/12 method is probably the best for me right now. The 18 hour day does work but again a pretty good hit on yield. I would say 30-40% less in yield. And yes it was about 1.5 ounces. That was one plant, pretty big as well. My room is much better now dialed in wise so I may actually try this again later down the road. :joint:
