Short nepali auto(regular)- Freedom of seeds

Starting a thread about one of the few non-feminised autoflower lines i know about. There arent many others talking about this particular strain online, so if anyone else feels so inclined, feel free to do so here. But by all means you dont have to.

Great little plants, the description is fairly accurate, however i have not ever been able to make them finish in the time mentioned by the breeder, it is probably more of a me problem than anything else. The effects are very spacey, intense and long lasting. Phenos ranging from "tight buds" to exaggerated foxtails, but again, more down to the fact the airflowe was uneven in the growing area rather than the plant itself. These were actually the feminised versions, however i much prefer the 'regulars'

Took about three months from seed to chop. If anyone has tried this plant, wants to or has a diary to post up...

I certainly agree. Although i left for around a month and had my partner looking after things, i honestly think if that hadnt happened they would have not struggled along as much, the way the soil was eroded from aggressive waterings when i returned made me wince. But you are 100% right about the estimates. 45 days would be some kind of miracle plant in any case...I had assumed it would still take less time than a typical autoflowering plant, as they normally take around 3 months in my limited experience, and had hoped for maybe less time

In my experience, autos take as long to ripen as photos, they just have a shorter veg period. I don't think I've ever had an auto (or a photo) come ripe in less than 10-12 weeks after flowering started.

Truthfully, the breeder estimates are optimistic to say the least, I doubt it's something you're doing wrong. I don't think I've ever had one finish in the time period the breeder advertised
Optimistic is such a generous way to put it. I've never had an autoflower finish in the time stated in the seed description. Seriously, not once. Usually not even very close. When I read the seed to harvest number provided by a breeder, I mentally add 21 to 35 days (aka 3 to 5 weeks)

Yeah, that’s the truth! I was giving breeders the benefit of the doubt, as opposed to saying “they lie like rugs!” (LOL)

I agree for the most part, however autos tend to be less forgiving with growing mistakes from what i have seen, which inevitably prolongs things, i am relatively inexperienced, so it can be easier to work with photos which you can allow more time to recover and gain health before making the leap to flower, and choose the optimum time to do so, where autos will do so regardless, or even be convinced to bolt and flower early and at a sub-optimal point. I tried supercropping afew autos for example, most of the ones i did went straight into flower and are properly showing sex in the next day or two, where some others it dosent preterb, and other factors can cause the same. Either way every photo ive ever had has been alot more of a breeze through flowering for me than the autos, both in terms of speed, resistance, flavour, potency, effect everything really!! :D Ive definitely had strains leaning towards the two month window, but generally three is to be expected, although, with skill and knowhow it is possible to get certain genetics to finish faster than otherwise...Growing the same strain under treecover and then putting it on a south facing slope, the ones under the trees will be flowering well past their time as they struggle to get things going substantially, where the exposed ones finish alot quicker etc, under the same light regimen, see it all the time outside with other species when fruiting, flowering, developing those fruits and the number of them etc. Blackberries for instance will always finish flowering late into the early winter if shaded, but stop in late summer if exposed well!

I think we're in brutal agreement! You're right on about auto's being less forgiving of mistakes, if they stall, it usually can't be fixed quickly enough, and yield suffers greatly. I usually top an auto once, maybe twice if it's growing very well, and hasn't shown preflowers. Here's two shots of the same photo plant, I was going to toss it, but decided to give it a chance, 2nd photo, glad I did! The one in question is the back plant.
