i'm usually at home cause of my training, i'm getting paid while i'm at home... writing studying material for industrial devices, whole summer lol... 3 month long summer and paid, thats my life.

Yeah i think they call you when you at home and they deliver the package to you, it's good service, i'm not keen to go carry my package around the city.

it's weird to speak english here as we all speak finnish lol :)

package came! and i built it already :) but i'm now f*cking maaaaad!!! cause the reflector was 10cm too big... i have to order again, this time from finnish shop for 40cm x 30cm reflector (much better and takes 125W CFL)

I should go take a picture in awhile so you guys can see how does it look :)

btw. the package came to my door.

Heres the setup so far, it will be better after a week-2 weeks cause i just put smaller reflector to order (40cm x 30cm) from puutarhurin verstas.

They have their summer holiday atm so they come back next monday.

Heres the pics:

when lamp is on that height, there is 50cm grow height, when i get my new reflector, i will make my setup better (filter and fan re-placements, they both fits into the grow tent but my tent came with only 2 straps..

I noticed the reflector size isn't listed on the website... at least you have the CFL bulb which is the most expensive part. I actually sent them an email asking about the reflector size for the 2x125W kit and they replied: 50 x 42 cm.

Looks like you have a good setup there (in your sauna?) and it will be even better with a reflector. :)

Btw did they call you first to arrange a delivery time?

No they didnt call me first cause itella brought it, if it was any other mail service, then they would have informed me that they were coming :) gladly i was home then.

Yeah the reflector is 50 x 42, maybe going to use it for vegging if i do vegging closet or something.

Yeah my tent is in sauna atm, i'm maybe going to pack it until i get all equipment, and i will see if i can even have this tent cause my wife now had some problems with my tent eventough she confirmed that it would be ok me to have one, maybe she were not excepting tent like this, maybe smaller. Fan tubing makes it look like over spacey but i will try to make my tent more compact.

I hate it when you wont get thumpsup from your friends/loved ones/ etc. who your involved with :D

I was firstly very suprised how bright the CFL was, bright as a hell, why in the world people need 600W lamp if 125W looks so killer!? hopefully 125W will be enough to yield 4 plants (3-4oz)(?) in this tent.

I thought Itella always called. I might just have to try to guess the delivery date when I make my order. :)

CFL bulbs are more efficient than (for example) HPS bulbs so they actually produce more light than their wattage rating. That CFL will draw 125W of electricity but produce a lot more (not sure exactly how much though) than 125W of light.

If you look at the CFL bulbs you can buy for your home they say something like "5W = 20W (incandescent)" meaning it uses 5W of electricity and produces 20W of light. That's an example from a tiny bulb for a table lamp.

This is also the reason why governments are trying to phase out incandescent bulbs and use CFL's instead: they cost less to run.

That's my newbie understanding anyway. :)

Itella/Keltainen kuljetus rarely calls, they'd rather trust you to be home in the middle of the day. I know, i used to work there :dance013: And i can't recommend it as a 9 to 5, freakin' hectic sometimes.

UPS calls, and has way cooler cars :tiphat:
DHL is sweeter, too

Yeah i think the same way, as HPS are based on arc light(?), and old light bulps are also.

In a 11w CFL/ESL box says that 11W CFL = 60W normal arc based bulp.

So could there be a change that 125W CFL would be much much more efficient than 250W HPS or even 400W HPS? if 11W CFL is as bright as 60W bulp. do i smell a concspiracy behind grow lights hmmm...:bump:

marketed as better light because of the bigger wattage, CFL is quite new to growing anyways so it has not been recogniced to be as good like now is LED having the same problem (rumour that 90W led is more efficient for growing than 400W HPS)

I'm bored :blowbubbles:

Lets make postal service that calls all the time "hey, your mail has not arrived yet, tought you would like to know" lol.

Yeah, HPS operates by using an arc. Incandescent bulbs operate by passing current through a filament in a vacuum.

I'm not sure whether there is any real advantage to using a HPS bulb because it seems to me you would just be wasting electricity. Perhaps they have some advantage for very large grow areas or maybe some growers are old school.

CFL bulbs seem ideal for a small scale grow because they don't use much electricity compared to their light output and run relatively cold reducing the need for cooling.

love?

Sorry BuddingGrower but your info is totally incorrect. HPS is much more efficient than CFL. That 125W is particularly inefficient, giving out only 8000 lumen which is 64 lumen/watt. For comparison a 250W HPS gives out 32000 lumen (may depend a bit on the manufacturer) which is 128 lumen/watt. That's twice as efficient.

Thanks for correcting me, I'm still really new to this. :)

That would explain why professional growers favor HPS lights but I think for a closet grow it would be overkill.
