in my mini pollen chucking tent . i have three male plants , that are flowering at the same time pretty much , if in doubt , use them all method. i dug them up , so a little stressed but so far they are all sexually stable .

i think i'm set with the female test plants too . males pulled and cleared , and being used . just females now.... sexually stable hopefully .

yeah, and maybe freeze some for whatever other situation.
I was just going to post that . I collect it on tin foil ,let it air dry for a day , cut it with some flour wrap it up and freeze in a jelly jar with a silica pack . So far I’ve used three year old pollen no problem. Yes it come in handy even when you don’t know why at the time

sticky traps i'm getting first thing in the morning and I'll see what else they got laying around at the store... weed barrier they should stock. and then its work work work.
unfortunately i cant do anything inside the tent until i get back home from work. pots should be nice and dry by then. hope i dont get welcomed by a black cloud of gnats haha

sand should be good too. i see they have the fine shit 0.1 to 0.4mm.
only large rolls of weed barrier fabric :(

don't dehydrate your plants for the sake of a gnat

i'm sure i'll come back from the garden store with completely different stuff like a funnel, some scotch tape and bags for my vacuum cleaner.
cant self smart other people uncle shiva. i thought i knew you...

the sand just gives a layer for the larvae to pass, as it would the soil , eventually the organic matter will leach into the sand zone anyway . the adult gnat does not care, will land on the sand, lay its eggs, the larvae form and can pass sand particles every easily, i have tried every aggregate and experimented with particle size.

the weed barrier sheet wins every time. you can even cut out disc shape to pack in the pots before you add the sand or stone. that would work. the stone would just hold the fabric in place securing your roots
