my mothers house was going to be put up for sale, but that is on hold again now . it is a can of worms type of house that has had 100 years worth of cowboys working on it . everything is wrong lol . the work we have done has been good , but it needs a lot of money spending on it to make it hows she deserves it

It's sometimes hard to unravel so much previous bad work to build it up properly again.

The house i'm in is fucked, needs 10's of thousands spent on it really, just have to patch things up and get them working as best as possible.

200 on self leveller compound , 20 m2 of tiles will cost an arm and a leg , and will take me a couple of days to get right. just for a floor . i wanted carpet but my cat would destroy it

i do rate that baxi compaq boiler for a small house. very simplistic. only the second time i have had to diagnose a fault in 6 years . it is due a service though as it has never had one .

When it warms up a bit i'll be concreting again.

I also need to get up on the roof again

Think i have a cracked sewer pipe under the house too :(
i think that could be the case at the cellar job i was working on. i removed the cowboys plaster back to bare brick in the end and i will monitor it . they need to stick a camera down the drains to check if the drains are damaged in any way . i was only enrolled to fix jobs , hang wall paper, fit handles , fix plastering in areas, fix painting , fit handrails and all the jobs not fulfilled by the cowboys

I need to replace the sewer pipe maybe. But they smell is mostly coming from the downstairs bathroom where i thikn the basin is plumbed directly into the side of the sewer without any sort of trap and also with large hole proper cowboy style.

is it hardly used? if it is in a cellar they can have shallow traps, and once it evaporates a bit it allows sewage gas back into the property .

one good thing about diversity in the uk i suppose is shopping for tiles, i can visit some iraqi brothers tile warehouse , look at the price , and offer a bit less for cash and they usually says yes, and shake on it . win for them, win for me with that form of trade
