-4 c today , and it will be 14 c on saturday . the u.k weather is unpredictable at times , and you can have all four season in just one week sometimes .

the water pressure on my boiler system was dropping each time i topped it up today , so i thought i had a leak , as the boiler would shut down itself ... turns out the condensing pipe had frozen water inside it blocking it . i defrosted it with a heat gun on lowest setting and it fired back up within a few minutes ...

i have the technicians over next week to start the process of exchanging my broken electric meter , and if they turn up with a smart meter , there is going to be big trouble in little chinatown for sho , either way i can set up my flowering room again once they have visited and completed the work needed .

I used to be qualified to work on boilers but am certainly no expert. You sure you havent got a leak somewhere?

I can't understand how a blocked condense could cause a water pressure drop. Sure it will cause your boiler not to fire up though. you mean pressure drop at taps or on boiler display?

Gl with the meter exchange and seeing you get bang on it again with the plants.

it would drop it self below 1 bar . i think it is safety shut down .' e 'and spanner code .

good in a way , as it was simple fix . once the pipes were warm it worked fine

So dropping to below 1 bar after trying to startup is normal if the condense was iced up or blocked.

now you thawed the condense it's not still dropping is it?

If it is you may have a cracked heat exchange inside boiler.

Is it a Worcester?

some of the pipes were frozen. it could of been my main feed in to the boiler part frozen , and as the boiler fired up , it would drop pressure and switch off. i defrosted the cupboard and pipes and then tried again and it all worked. i checked every radiator after that, checked for leaks and boiler has been fine since. its a baxi

Might aswell get some insulation around the condense pipe. Easy 80 quid for plumbers this time of year with a hairdryer.
i need it serviced , and i need that magna filter cleaned. they are easy to fuck up i have been told on the threads so i need an expert. i had a plumber but he has gone awol . they can pick and choose work these days i suppose

These sudden frosts are terrible for that. My mother had the ceilings cave in from a leaking 'wall' even though the roof has just been fixed so recently.
i just fixed my mothers for the third time prior to this event lol. i was going to paint it for her on the weekend after i dry lined it for her.... i will have to do it again. she sounded very frustrated on the phone.

at first i thought maybe somebody had died , but thankfully just a leak once she had explained why she was so upset ,

i will sort it with my apprentice

those magna are self isolating, you can clean them yourself just isolate the valves either side and unscrew it then rub all the iron oxide off

my mothers house was going to be put up for sale, but that is on hold again now . it is a can of worms type of house that has had 100 years worth of cowboys working on it . everything is wrong lol . the work we have done has been good , but it needs a lot of money spending on it to make it hows she deserves it
