Its crazy my dog Leroy just passed this weekend. I take it as a little word from God, cherish every moment. Life is good. Do what you can while you are here. Rest and watch what God does.... Keep the hope, His mercies are great.
Jesus was Hebrew, he placed great authority on the Hebrew Scripture. He would go to the temple to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom. So had spend his life studying Scripture and praying for understanding. Along came John the Baptist, who preached the baptism of repentence and the kingdom of God. He places authority on the Scripture as well when he says, " The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord."
Jesus said he didn't come to comdemn the world, and he didn't come to destroy the Law and the prophets, but to fulfill the Law.
We can see and hear the character of God accurately described as we study the Scriptures. Jesus fulfills and explains the Word of the Old Testament.
The heavens declare His Glory, God's word is evident in Creation. Jesus came to lead by example, showing us the way to live completely surrounded by God's grace, to fulfill your life and God's kindom.
Just have to Study the scriptures to understand who Jesus is. Joshua is a type of Jesus.
But yes study all you want, but you have to obey Him! God's Word is very near you, not far off, as Moses, the servent of the Lord said.
Thanks for keeping the religious zealots honest about the faith! Look to God to develop your faith, He is the best teacher, but measure it off the Scriptures because they point the way to watch God work.
