Sharing a bin with multilple strains on a DWC Grow?

I am at the next stage in my cab construction that I have to decide on the bins/buckets I want to use. I bought two 3 gallon buckets (I think 3 gallon

). One thing is I think I will have to go with a ScrOg grow. So I am not sure if I should save those for the mothers or Flowering. I think they are best size for flowers and may be too big for mothers (newbie). But I have my heart set on a ScrOg and that would be so much easier to permanent attach to a bin that could fit2, 3 or 4 plants.

So can I have multiple strains sharing a bin if I have them in somewhat of the same growth stage?

Thanks!

Yeah, no problem there that I can think of. What would be more of an issue is if one or more of them are male, which would mean you wouldn't be able to remove it easily without 'effing up the other plant(s). Just something to think about, but it wouldn't mean disaster.

I had 5 different strains growing in a ~20 gal DWC setup... it became problematic at the end, because the strains had different flowering times (9-13 weeks)... being in the same rez it was impossible to flush just one, and I ended up having to chop some of the early ones without a flush... another problem that came up is that the roots all got crazy intertwined in the rez, and when I chopped one, I had to spend a lot of time trying to untangle the dead rootballs from the living ones... probably wound up damaging the living ones at least a bit.

I will never put multiple plants (forget multiple stains) in the same rez again.

Thanks guys. After much thought since I want to grow hybrids, pure sativas and pure indicas I will just do one strain at a time (unless I can find ones with same flowering and height characteristics).

yeah more than one plant a tub is a pain in the arse. I switched back to individual 3 gallon buckets. The big tub also makes it a pain to change the rez once the plants are any kind of big.

i've use that exact method a few times. 6 clones in 18gal tub. this works best with clones 1 strain at a time. you can use different strains but only if u have grown them out before and know that they grow/flower/ the same. otherwise u need to make a modular scrog so you can flower each w/o them getting all tangled together
