People,i,m from Bulgaria and many of the citizens here trying to stop this shit before it happens here! we hurt that unfortunatelly your goverment is just like ours-selling the land and the people to American oil companies to do whatever they want without telling nobody! inform yourself and lets stop this FRACKING SHIT everywhere in Europe! dont let few people from the goverment get some money and everybody else get cancer! Bulgaria hates FRACKING and we wont let this happen here at any cost!!!! i saw that there is brave people there in your country but it looks like your government is worst even than ours(if it is possible) Our fucking bastards here allways reppeat:"Poland let this tipe of drilling,they will have more and more GAS and u dont want Bulgaria to have gas and independence!" WE DON,T NEED THAT KIND OF "INDEPENDENCE"! the worst thing is that Romania already started this insanity near Dunav river and u can imagine what this means to us,we are neighbors,this river is our border! if u didnt watch gasland i suggest u to see it to know what exatly they will do to us if we dont react hard!

Personally this subject worries me too, but here people lack awarness and there is little alternative information available. 2 or 3 weeks ago there was actually one, very informative documentary on T@V@P@1@ about ecologivcal disasters caused by fracking in the USA. Polluted soil on vast areas, abbrasive chemicals in ground waters, hundreds tonnes of dead fish in the rivers. I seen these pictures and I'm freaking out. You know that they are pumping 2/3, or more, of the Mendeleyev's table into the earth only to get gas? Or a by-product of gas production, chemically polluted water, cannot be properly (safely) disposed of and must be kept in concrete pools which often leak. Such leaks already caused major ecologigal disasters in the USA.

This is horror. And actually there is litte we can do, because it is GAS=energy.The big fish decide about it.

Until people realize that We and the Earth are one and stop harmful exploitation we will be going down the drain.

i think we can and must do something! They affraid of the normal people united,they hate when the people unite to do something. let me tell you what they trying to do here,in Bulgaria. first-nobody knows nothing,our government giving permitions to some companies like Chevron for example and trying to keep full silence. but the people saw gasland and some other movies and start to think,they start to make protests. tommorow there will be one of those protest in Sofia but there is allways no television,no one from the government. the people must inform themselves and react fast because there is still time to stop this,in Europe this is the beginning...of the end. some of us are ready to do whatever must do to stop that thing happen here. Everywhere those companies do exactly the same thing-silence,giving huge money to stupid governments and then...boom the FrACKING starts before people know what is going on. There is nothing live in the areas that they use for drilling,no plants,no anymals,no humans... i have child and i will never let them to do this but we must be like sea so they cant ignore us. u must do it to and be fast,there is many people in your coutry who knows and trying to do something,contact them! you and we are not indians in equador,we are inteligent Europeans and they must know that!And we have internet too see the movies that i,m speaking about,they are shocking! One of them is " Gasland" and "Crude-the real price of oil". I saw there is even some programs from Germany,they already have the first'little"problems with that" technology" it is embarrassing,we must choose between water or gas...this is very stupid choise,what do u want drinking water or gas and "independence" haha thats why they dont tell it that way cous it even sound stupid

u wanna make earth a better place? start from urself stop using ur computer cos its powered by fossil fuels burned in power plants. stop buying food and grow everything yourself wihtout nutes and such. but where u gonna live? in a forest? u gonna scare some poor animals.
u say ur water is polluted by ur neighbors but do u think ur country isnt polluting their neighbors? and if it bothers u so much u can always use RO to clean the water u drink or use bottled. but hey pumping water thru the pipes uses energy made from fossil fuels!

if mining that gas means more jobs more tax income why not take the chance?

Seriously: I don't think that this shell-gas extractions will really affect local communities that seriously. I believe that we need to get independent from Russian if we want to develop our economics. I also believe that modern technologies will prevent environmental pollution. Maybe I'm too much of an optimist in this case, let's hope I'm not

i hope this is my paranoia,really! but there is proofs that this is something more. they always talk about 'independence" from Russia,they told us this here,exactly the same 'bla-bla"everywhere...i see in this clip some old people that holding the same water like in the movie. and they are not Americans far,far away... so i suggest u just go and see what is happening really in our countries! why dont u go and ask people is it true,is there some pollution of the water in theese areas. it will be helpfull for us too if u tell us. what is the price that you can pay to get independent from russian fuel/gas and developlocal economy? if i were u i wouldn't be so optimistic about saving our planet by some modern technologies as you call it.

i have red this tread many times, and started to think about it.
i am so surprised that many of you don't see the danger, and alternatives that we can take...
look how our planet has changed during last 200-250 years. this is one way road with "no exit" sign at the end. earth doesn't belongs to the human race, we share it with other species since we arrived on the blue planet [not so blue anymore].how many animal and plant species disappeared? we can;t take them back, so the planet won't be the same anymore...even in milion years time.
it's time to wake up and open our eyes, before it will be to late. multinationals companies, they don't care about us, about the environment, about anything but the $$$$$$$$$$$$
they come to one place, take what they need, then go somewhere else, again, and again and again. they choose weaker countries with smaller economies, because it's much easier to blind people's eyes in this countries, by their shitty promises [jobs, money etc]. they act just as our politics, promising everything at the beginning, and then, when they get our/your permission, they just keep playing their own game, in which people are not important any more...

przemix you wrote that we should start changes from ourselves, by throwing out our computers etc etc. there is other way to start the changes. step by step, all the small things that we do everyday. you can safe animals by vegetarian diet, you can safe earths resources by recycling, and segregation of everydays rubbish, you can plant the tree. you will tell me that one person can't change nothing by doing this. yes, but if there will be more of us, the difference will be bigger.
and don't u call us eco fascists, just because we want to change something... it's very similar to what goverment heads have been talking about all the alterglobalist movement, when they ve been manifesting on the streets of prague more than 10 years ago. and what? look how the global economy looks at the moment...it will fall down very soon. some people start to act in more radical way, because nobody listen their arguments.why? because it's much easier to listen all that bla bla bla shit from tv and goverment. their lies, false promises, blurry explanations etc etc. its just what they want. giving you an illusion of freedom just to keep your mouth shuted.

we should start to think about the future of the earth. not for us, not for our children or grandchildren, but for the people that may live here in 1000 or 10000 or even 10000000 years. because earth is the only place where we can live.
