ok so today just as an experiment i hosed down the burlap and it cooled down the whole inside of the shade house a noticeable amount. I'm def going to go with the mister system and possibly have some or all of the misters aimed at the burlap so it stays wet constantly. the one problem was it dried after less than half an hour so it needs to be constantly sprayed. ill prob run this during the peak hours of the day when its the hottest.

If you get that system and set it up keep us posted on how it works out for you. It would be cool to see the feasibility of growing in the desert.

I've had badly timed indoor grows get real hot.

100+ degrees F.

Good way to find out which plants are heat-resistant !

You might have plants that survive 110 - but will probably make better buds at 95.

Multiple layers of shade-cloth is good, like in the rain forest.

Of course in the morning & when it is cooler, that's a good time for full sun & bud production.

A light-dep greenhouse that has shade-cloth instead of opaque cloth, timed to put the plants in the shade when temps climb above 100 - that sounds good. :woohoo:

you need a swamp cooler setup to keep the burlap wet or misters on a timer...I have grown in places up to 115 or so....last place hit that high quite a few times....yeehaw...I went with light colored shade cloth

The worst thing about high temps is that the terpenes get fried and evaporate, so the herb is nothing like if grown right. Get a air conditioner, and a greenhouse that keeps cool, the shade cloth is a help, not so good for biomass veg growing but fine for flowering.

Thanks Skunkman I have been wanting to know if shade cloth would create less resin during flowering. I orginally had shade cloth up for transplanting afraid that they would burn going from a 400MH to the full sun but they weren't growing very fast, i pulled off the aluminet and they started going nuts! tons of biomass i've pruned them twice in two weeks. point is, august is one of the only 3 months it really gets HOT at 45N. being fast-and-early strains that's usually the first 4 weeks of flowering (for them) and I was wanting to know if aluminet would be ok for a stretch of overly-hot days.
