It undermines existing markets that have been cornered. Those interests enable officials who oppose legalisation.
Why would financiers who's investments represent a 90% share of a trillion dollar industries want to see that industries destroyed by a new product they DON'T have a 90% share of. They have cigarettes, cancer drugs and alcohol all to themselves but those markets would shrink or disappear with legalisation. Sure people will make money, just not them, and they know it.
They also know its a lot harder to control stoned populations
I think you are wrong on the easier to control the population. I would have agreed with you 10 years ago. If you look at the ratio of people here who blindly hate Trump, thus supporting Hillary Clinton (the most corrupt, criminal, and unqualified candidate in modern times). If they support a candidate who was hand picked, and propped up by the mainstream media. These people voted for a candidate who couldn't tell the truth to Congress or the American people, she hid her pay for play, her underhanded primary treatment of the Sanders campaign. It used to be said that potheads were conspiracy theorist, now they choose to ignore the evidence that is right in front of there face.
I also believe that Hillary Clinton has no intention of moving Cannabis forward, unless a corporation is able to donate a couple hundred million to the Clinton Foundation.
