Serious MOLD Issues: No not that kind

Well I just set up a new room and somehow I forgot to insulate in between one set of studs. The high indoor temps mixed with the cold air outside caused the osb between the studs to mold. I noticed it when the drywall started to mold just slightly. I

It doesn't look horrible yet but it is not comforting. I need to somehow get it cleaned and dried so I can insulate that piece and put up new drywall.

I am sure that it won't happen again once insulated but I need to kill as much as possible.

My question is how do I kill it and what harm does the cleanup pose my girls. I mean could it cause bud mold? Lead to other issues? It would be very hard to remove all the girls I have quite a few. The humidity in the room was a little high but I have just today added a larger 8" can fan and dehumidifier. I have been maintaining 45% humidity and temps of 75. Outside it is 20-30 at night.

I have heard bleach does not really work on porous materials. Done alot of searching and thinking about scrubbing with soap and water, drying with HID, Spray Vinegar, dry, and then paint with a couple coats of latex. As long as I don't let it happen again by insulating like I should have do you think that will be enough.

Most websites recommend sanding but I am afraid of kicking the spores up on my girls. They are 2 weeks into flower.

Absolutely any suggestions would be helpful both in how to kill the mold and what effects it can have on marijuana. Especially sanding and kicking up so many spores. I could seal the end of the room with plastic but it would be hard to clean up all the spores kicked up by sanding. Extremely grateful guys:bow:

You're not the first guy with this problem.

This is an easy one .
Your local paint store sells a paint additive called Mildew-cide or something close to that.
Comes in a small, brown, glass bottle.
Add it to the white paint and slap it on the wall.
Won't hurt plants.

They also carry a spray that kills mold and mildew before you re-paint.
Not really sure if that's harmless to plants.

Aloha,
Weezard.

Yes I noticed that stuff online but I have heard contradictory things about it. I guess it would be better than just latex. Really I got lucky because the mold is where I planned on later putting a door. I really just need to stop the spread until next spring when I move the grow. But I gotta kill this shit first.

Citrox by Agralan is superb stuff, i used it to successfully wipe out a powdery mildew problem earlier this year, it is merciless on any form of mould or mildew.

Physan20 kills most anything it touches too and is cheap at 1ml per gallon, $10 for a 250ml bottle online.

Well I searched locally (smaller town) and was only able to find a few brands. I ended up getting MOLDEX Inhibitor. The guy at the hardware store said it works pretty good.

I am going to clean, spray, dry, clean, spray, dry and see what happens. I am worried about using a wire brush which he recommended to get deep into the OSB. I really don't want to spread the spores to my plants. Its a vertical room and its packed and I really have nowhere to move them without major work.

If I can get it cleaned up I will then paint with one of the anti-mold paints. I am really hoping that will be enough. Does anyone know how easy mold from the house can affect houseplants. Thanks alot guys.
