Sensi Seeds-Jamaican Pearl

The Jamaican Pear was grown organically, under the natural light of the sun. Started in April and finished in mid-late October, the plant was just like the description given by Sensi, complex aroma and elongated buds. The finished bud was cured for about a month. The prefered smoke method was a joint light by a fireplace match burned a quater of the way down to let the chemical accelerants burn out. Now for the smoke. The first hit was very smooth, could hardly tell I was inhaling smoke. Exhale was continually smooth and had a hint of sour apple. Continuing to toke on this J I felt myself get slowly lifted higher and higher and the sour apple tast got stronger. The weed had no "roof" on its high. The high could be felt from the first toke and got progressively stronger. Now, I have been smoking for quite some time but this strain knocked me on my ass and I found myself fast asleep in just a short while. I woke a couple hours later and still had a slight head buzz. I would highly reccommend this strain for growth. Does especially well when grown outdoors.

Ah, the Jamaican Pearl. I grew the JP outdoors in 2000 (or was it 99? Time flies). Tall and very branchy. Low yielding, but I hardly ferted them at all so it could be because of lack of love and attention. The smoke is excellent, as most Sensi strains. A couple of my friends swear that it is the best smoke they've ever had from me, and they've been served with some top notch smoke through the years; nl#5, AK-47, Kali Mist, NYCD, Sour Diesel, WW, Blueberry, Powerplant, Original Misty, Blockhead, Super Silver Haze, well, you get my point. It doesn't get much hype in the forums, but it is highly thought of in Amsterdam, and often recommended above other Sensi sativas by the staff.

Nice, I have a pack of these that I picked up in the 'Dam. Just out of curiousity, what kind of germ rates did you get?

Well, I only grew 3 and all germed. Got one male and female, other plant died before it had the chance to show sex.

Yeah, I noticed that many people don't seem to think too much of this strain. I can't understand why because I find it to be one of the best smokes I have ever had. I even harvested it two weeks early so I know that if I let it go longer the flavor and potency would only have expanded. I am currently trying to get some more seeds. All I have left is the cross that was made from it, Apollo 13 x Jamaican Pearl. I probably try those out and see what the quality is when the outdoor season starts up again.

I planted a single seed today as a germ test. I picked it up right from Sensi's Hash Museum store about a year ago. It's one of the old packs (no bubble). Let's see if it pops! I'll plant a few more if it doesn't.

I have been interseted in this strain for a while now. Its nice to have reports like that to help make decisions for future crops. I may have to try the Jamaican Pearl next season myself. Would reaelly be interested in some pics too if anyone can muster some.

freshly chopped and manicured. Like I said, it was chopped a bit early so it would have fattened up more. The high was perfect for a Sativa lover though.

Looks good! The seed I planted popped, but I accidentally managed to wash it down the drain. I planted another one to replace it.

I harvested some a few months ago. Outstanding hazey smoke! I'll do some more of them very soon. JP is the shit! Not a spot of mold on it either.

...bumping this thread.

I have done a number of searches and there is a real lack of info on this strain. This thread actually has the most info I could find. I am hoping there are some more growers who have done the JP and can share their experiences, and perhaps a few pics.

I did some earlier this year and it was outstanding. Wasn't much of it though, as the plants were stunted by the cold. I'll be starting more in the next few weeks. It was quite hazey and didn't mold in the Spring rain! All my other strains did. I intend to hit two landrace sativas and some original haze with JP pollen. Here's some JP bud from earlier this year, next to a bowl I bought in Amsterdam (right before I bought the seeds, I think)...
