hey guys, i just want to ask for your opinion on something.
my grow has gone well and i'm now on the 25 day of flowering

looking kinda pretty actually! :)

but now i'm starting a concern a little bit because all i can see it's a lot of white hairs but the buds are really small and looking kinda skinny.

is it normal at this part of the flowering stage?
will they got bigger ?

she's a bagseed so i don't know how much time it will suppose to take. but, what do you think?

also, i got nothing like a light filtration on my growbox.

My works are all about self sufficiency. I go by the old rules... No smell, no tell, no sell. Other than telling here, obviously. Link below if anyone wants to look. Best of luck to you all.

Happy farming, stay safe!

love seeing all of these examples of people doing their growing for themselves.

though i must admit....at times it is hard to not upgrade to a little more space. growing a little extra to "pad the pocket" a little.....especially now that my product is of higher quality and more consistent. Friends are always asking where they can get "some of that shit" when i break out a little. i always answer with "i have a farmer friend from my hometown" kind of answers.

...however, when i set out to start growing i did it with the full intent of not getting wrapped up into that mix....i don't wanna be the local pot dealer. it puts too many eyes on MY prize. I would much rather "teach a man to fish" for himself. That gives you a fellow fisherman to share fish stories with!

Popped 4 Ace Malawi standards about a week ago....100% germ rate. Also popped a freebie of world of seeds northern lightsxbig bud...why not?!?...u never know where a special gem might be hidden, and some of the best things in life are free!

Got in on the black Friday deal from herbies, so going to have some (hopefully) wonderful genetics to leaf through in the upcoming new year! Wasnt able to order what I had originally planned due to outages, so I had to improvise. was only able to get zamaldelica and bangi haze from ace ....damn!

I also managed to impulse buy some of nirvana/sativa seeds varieties! Don't know what to expect having never tried any of their gear, but their gear was inexpensive and allows me to try many extremely diverse varieties. I did some looking around on icmag and saw plenty of happy customers with nirvana/sativa gear so....

.....Damn, I need more space

Oh, my.

You have some new plants to grow coming up!

Growing is addictive, looking for the new and interesting
scents and flavors!

What Nirvana varieties did you choose?

DC. This statement is so very true! And the best part of self sufficiency is getting to make the choices of which scents and flavors you desire! Also what kind of effects you desire. We all know that various varieties have different effects on different people. Why not choose for yourself what characteristics you desire in the product you consume??

.....not to mention growing practices in general. I'm sure there are some growers out there that would do ANYTHING to push and extra gram out of a grow.....no thanks! *cough...monsanto...cough*

Right now in my "growing quest" i am merely trying to try many different genetics. I try to use the smoke reports and strain descriptions as a guide to choose genetics. I want to find the strain that is best suited for ME....i figured the best way is to try a wide variety of genetics and see what i like from the different profiles. Once i have tried a nice array of genetics i will begin to refine those choices and possibly breed for MY most desired characteristics.

of those characteristics, yield being the least important.

My Nirvana/Sativa choices were:

Nirvana: bubblelicious and aurora indica
Sativa: Full Moon and Blackberry

I went with the full moon because herbies was out of the Ace thai varieties that they normally had. I was really wanting some golden tiger to try out.... lesson learned. buy them before they are gone! lol (same for bubba hashplant i wanted. however herbie's FREEBIE SEED was a pre 98 bubba cross from humboldt called "bubbas gift". hopefully it will suffice)

I also picked up a "berry" variety from Barneys farm called "red cherry berry"....no reason on that one really....just sounded tasty when i was clicking! how random.

I don't have a smoke report on the dinafem criticalxjack yet, but i can say that the sweet, dirty sweat/ rotting fruit smell that was so disgustingly amazing while it was in flower has turned into a rancid, putrid stench now that it has been in a jar for a while. I open the jar to burp it and it makes me wonder whether i really want to consume it or not! lol

its like a "smell my finger" joke gone bad!!! lol

Micro growing not only can provide you enough herbs to get you by, but also provides you with an intimidate relationship with this sacred teacher plant!

Having low numbers makes you be really close to the few plants you have, you need to give them love, make sure to train them to fit your small sized growroom!

You can also grow the cleanest, highest grade medicine out there if you use the proper methods! Organics all the way, cheaper, easier and it's what provides the safest cleanest tastiest smoke out there!

No need for expensive hydroshop bottles my friends... A nice soil mix will keep things flowing smoothly till the end of the cycle! Top dress after harvest a bit of kelp&neem meal, with some worms castings and you are ready for your next cycle. No need to tilling, remixing soil, getting more dirt! Nature keeps recycling by itself! Work with nature and not against and it will reward you!

Just my .02cents, hope thats ok! :)

Buddha. You 2 cents is welcome here any time. Thanks for stopping by.

I agree totally about that relationship you build with your plants. I feel sorry for any grower who is growing for greed rather than that love. They sure are missing out.

small update

I FINALLY have cuttings in flower from the Zamal-Hashplant from ace. I actually put the re-veged "mother" in as well as a few of the "budcicle" clones. i kept one clone back as the new mother. It is a small enough clone, and i should have plenty of time to mold it into a beautiful mother plant by the time i am ready for her again.

The 4 malawi regulars i started a while back have been up-potted to their new homes. My plan is to try something different this go around. In the past, i have always started seeds in coco and kept that as the mother plant because i have personally had better luck maintaining mothers in coco rather than soil. This time i am starting with soil, and will do a kind of mainline with lst method i had success with on my tangerine dream, and flower that plant. I will cut the top in half to make 2 clones. the top clone will go into flower after it roots, and the middle cut will be put in coco to become the mother (starting with only the 2 alternate branch sites at ground level)

...at least that is the plan.

I snapped a few pics of the malawi plants tonight. didnt get any of the flowering plants due to lights being off. i'll try to get some update photos on here tomorrow! After all, whats a thread about growing for yourself without some examples?!?!

Here are the 4 Malawi plants I am working with. A couple more weeks and they will be topped and trained. Maybe sooner. Can't wait to see some signs of maturity.

Sorry for the crappy photo quality. Old camera, and I have no skills lol

M2 and M3 seem quite similar. M5 is the runt oddball. M4 is a very fast eater. Have to water it 2x as often as the others.
*edit* I just noticed in the pic of how explosive the root growth was on M4 in comparison to the rest. That probably has a lot to do with the heavy drinking.

I also got pictures of the flowering plants but didn't have time to upload this morning. Will try to get them on here tonight.

Here are the ace zamal-hashplant(lets) that are in flower...all except for the last one are at 1.5 weeks. The last one is at .5 weeks.

this is the re-veged mother. Notice the large yellow single blade and the multiple, small single blade leaves trying to emerge from the bottom....i will trim those out a little once stretch is over and budset begins. I'm not sure if they will pose any kind of intersex traits...anyone with some experience with re-veged plants, please do chime in.

these two i am trying to spiral the plants at about the same size of the containers, achieving an open middle for light, more even light to budsites, and it will allow me to grow a slightly longer main stem which gives more budsites in the same space. (theoretically)

Finally the young one. trying to figure out the stretch on this strain, so its going to be a straight budsicle. ...that is unless it grows too tall. then it will become a 7. lol

last up is the Barneys Farm tangerine dream.

First up is the one that i recently chopped. poor, tortured plant. but it made it through and i'll smoke it! (at least once) I should note that when i harvest a plant i dont trim it. i just chop it, hang it for a few days, then stuff the whole plant into a jar with a hygrometer. Then i just slowly bring that rh down by opening/leaving slightly open over the course of the next 7-14 days or until i can keep it closed and rh becomes stable at 62-65%.

Next up plant was doing wonderfully til the holidays when i was away for a few days and it dried up quite a bit and started to eat itself....it is a couple days into week 4

last up for this update is another tangerine dream this one is at about 3 weeks. its turning out ok considering I accidentally topped the plant while trying to train it a week or so ago. sure wish i could undo that one!!! At least it was still eating "light" when its hungry sister had her starving issues.

anyways, only 15 weeks to go!! :watchplant:

Started growing in 18 gallon tubs from KMart and haven't really left that 'micro' mentality since I don't need a lot of plants, granted I do have a larger tent now but still use the tubs. I grow for personal use only, I like being mobile and it's easy. I loved when I rented a house and some folks renting for the next year do a walk through, just unplugged the tubs, moved them to a corner like they were storage and good to go.

Also micro-growing has taught me a ton of height control, when you only have 18" of height, you learn to work with it. This is the most recent 'true' micro plant I've grown, Durban that I was playing with STS on.
