Selecting males?

I choose my males based on structure, smell (stem rub), last to show preflowers, resin content and if it has a hollow main stem ....major sign of drug cannabis ....hemp fibers fill the stem of non drug, lower potency males! The stem rub shouldn't be your only or main reason for choosing a male.

An IBL strain is a good male to use for uniformity and stability, but any male with favorable traits is a good candidate but I personally like using males from Backcrosses, F2s and up!

in my experience a hollow main stem indicates a plant that is deficient in calcium and/or boron, and has nothing to do with potency.. I grow all sorts of things and have cuts of all sorts of potent plants and they all have a solid stem, because their calcium and boron requirements are met.. ideally the stem should be solid and bright white at the core imho..

When I say hollow I don't mean weak. My plants have strong stems and branches too, I have the white middles but there is a hollowness in the middle of that. You can see what I'm talking about when you cut the plants and you can feel it when you pinch or supercrop the plant!
