Some seeds just take a long time. Cracking them will always work on viable seeds. Sometimes after sowing seeds and none pop up I toss the soil back into the main bin. When I up pot ill find seedlings growing in other plants' soil lol.
No peat pots in over 40 years, as they're variable in quality, brand to brand/source to source, aside from the moisture issues.I never put seeds in the soil until I see sprouts and I never use peat pellets because they hold too much moisture.
My soil is simi ground up fox farm happy frog. I grounded up the soil a little bit before putting it in the cups. The cheese seeds have sprouted and are now in the cups of soil.
