the soil I have it just some soil from Lowes...Nature's Finest or some shit like that...The seedlings where like 2" from the light, but after all this started to happen, I moved them to about 6" from the light... What I did guys, was just left those seedlings alone, and I planted another one in different soil with VERY little perlite, and it was MG soil..i know not the best, but ony thing available...I am doing a test run with this one...any other ideas?

well...things have definetely not gone any better...I think soon I am going to transplant them into a mix with less perlite and more soil...What about drainage? won't the soil stay extra wet if I don't put perlite in there? and is the Fox Farm going to be good for my seedlings? I can notice little brown spots on the leaves, and the leaves are drying up and feel crispy on some of them..

OK guys, even though no one is responding to my thread anymore, I am going to post ne-ways just in case :-] Today I transplanted them into 16 oz. beer cups, and this time I used fox farm ocean forest soil, with only a dab of extra perlite added...Should i water them lightly today with some superthrive? and also... is 135 watts too much to have my other seedlings trying to germinate in?

get a soil wetness guage and water when almost dry. and use flourescents, dont know what your using 135 what? halogen? 135 watts is worthless if it isnt the right light.

lol christian...I am not a total n00b, I do have successful grows under my belt...I am using CFL's warm whites, 45 watters right now...I have the 23 watters taken out for now, because I thought it was too much light and heat all together for now...I personally don't think I need a wetness gauge, I feel I can do withouth, and I am not trying to insult you so please don't think that...thanks for giving your opinions though, HIGHly appreciated man...stay safe!

......Regular Kellogs soil with the least amount of ferts works good, definately not the best but for a beginner easier to manage......

Hello all,

Christian, Specifically which blend of Kellogg's are you reffering to?

I use Kellogg's Patio Plus and it is a hot soil-chicken/bat/worm shit, kelp and other things nasty good for your plants.

I myself for seedlings use 1 part perlite, one part peatmoss and oner part kellogg's Patio plus in 16oz beer cups (tall and slender). I germ my beans using the papretowel method. I place them in the soil that is moist but not dripping wet. I keep them in a humid environment and mist the tops of the soil until they sprout. Just today I planted 6 cracked beans.

My biggest problem in the biggining is overwatering them. They will tell you when to water-that and the feel/weight of th cup/pot.

Good luck and let them dry out some.

heh, i am definetely letting them dry out more this time...I am sure we got our pH down now, things are looking brighter at the end of the tunnel!!! I haven't watered them since transplant, and they seem to be doing great, I am going to when I think they need water, wait 1 more day then water, that method seemed to work good for me last time...thanks everyone for your ideas and support!! stay safe, and happy tokin'

I actually havent used it for about 2 years and I used one of the time released fertilizer ones, I am pretty sure Bog had suggested it. I myself now use a Sunshine Soiless, with a fert mix similar to Subkools. Im trying to go more organic, yet trying to be subtle and balanced at the same time.
