I wouldn't trust Windows Vista to properly remove or edit metedata.

Use Privoxy + TOR over SSL connections.
You can use paid services, I don't think they're worth it due to the fact they're not 100% solid and concrete. I have an associate who runs a paid proxy service, generally for those in countries which have some hardcore internet censorship.

Everything is flawed though, lots of people setup TOR exit nodes and sniff the traffic.
LEO can and might piggyback on these paid proxy services and setup sniffing/data mining applications...

windows vista u can quickly remove all personal info from multiple pics, select them, right click to properties. Then Details>remove personal info.

Change it to REMOVE THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES.

Select ALL in the bottom right, Hit okay, and watch it work

That's AWESOME! just tried it and it worked.

Thanks king.

BTK was caught because of metadata on a .doc file....

Removing/editing it would of saved him from being caught...

actually .doc and .xls files are the worst because they add in all kinds of info without telling you or making it easy to view unlike at least the EXIF.

Ususally when people get a new computer they put their name and stupid stuff on it and then when they install word or excel they register it with that name or the software just sends that computer info back to microsofts server or transfer the computer info into the program.

If you ever look at a new .doc like from 2007 office there are areas to input author, company, all kinds of data that would be WAY more incriminating then just some EXIF data so definately do not post .doc's or .xls unless you've stripped them first.

If your paranoid then don't grow, its that simple. I for one am sick of hiding, I just don't care anymore. Now don't get me wrong I still take the usual security precautions in the real world, but none online. I highly doubt anyone's looking online to try to bust people growing a small number of plants at there house. That being said If i was doing an 8000 watt grow I prob wouldn't post anything about it on here.

Personally I think this is silly. Why not take precautions online? It doesn't happen often yet, but police really do use clues from the internet. As for not hiding anymore, well, to each their own I suppose. I, personally, would like to stay hidden. :) (And being secure online doesn't make me paranoid.)

All that being said, it's still a personal decision. The chance of you getting busted online is probably pretty small, but it certainly isn't 0. Maybe I am a little paranoid, but at least I know I don't have to worry about this.

Practice safe nets! :p

Its a prevention measure. Like locking your house, car doors and what not. Same reason we have passwords.

It's not a secret anymore if someone other than you knows about it... :D

Hey mr fear and loathing...!

I do not want to perpetuate paranoia - but it is good to know your enemy... I was busted a while ago while buying some, because I thought I was untouchable - I should have known something was up when I saw that the Old Rasta wasn't there...- 20 years of buying and never been kissed before...

Now I would just like to keep my tracks covered.

Thanks for all the input - still not convinced....not gonna post pics...

Does that mean no one should trust you because you have 34 posts? I have a low post count obviously because I am new here. I've posted hundreds of times on cannabis.com including grow logs and pics, I came here because they have been down for 3 weeks. By the way I gave no advice to anyone, was just telling people how I feel.
