Secret tea recipe?

why would you add the nutes after brewing? wouldnt the bacteria break the nutes down quicker?

My comment is in response to the recipes posted that include the guano. I dont add nutes to MMs recipe. If the grower insists on it or needs to fertilize during that watering, better to add the nutes just before application.

I came across an article that seems to have adjusted MMs recipe claiming to favor fungal growth:

compost/EWC - 24ml/L
BS molasses - 2.5ml/L or less
fish hydrolysate - 2ml/L
kelp 2.5ml/L max
rock phosphate powdered .66ml/L
humic acid .66ml/L

**You may add a little soil or partially/completely decomposed forest litter (rotted leaves, wood pieces). If you are applying CT to grass or flowers use some local soil from a healthy (unmanipulated by man) area where similar plant species are doing well.

**Another trick to encourage fungal growth is to use good quality fish hydrolysate diluted in water (e.g. around 2 ounces per gallon of water [16ml/L]) and dampen compost and cover for around 5 days with a cloth.

If you look at my webpage you'll see I've stopped recommending humic acid and I do not recommend adding nutrients to a finished tea.

:yeahthats

adding nutrients to a system already overloaded with life is going to crash the tea as aerobes go into overdrive - and your pump is probably off.

I think it takes about as long to crash a brew as it does to suffocate a person

Since the tea is super concentrated I just add a splash of finished tea to the watering can and use it right away. In my case if the water did have feed, it would only be 1ml/L of BS molasses and maybe plant tone 1ml/L. that shouldn't do the microbes any harm I assume?

I have noticed lots of site claiming that fungi feed on humic acid but I do study your site on a regular basis (top notch info thank you!) and since humic acid is not included in your recipe I avoid it. I have a big cheap bag of unprocessed granular leonardite i just add it to the soil when recycling.

I did try adding watered down fish hydrolysate to a thin layer of EWC/kelp meal a few days before brewing. sure enough within 24 hours the EWC is white and fuzzy. Then I go with the standard MM recipe and call it good for vegging and flowering. No microscope yet but the finished tea sure is black as night.
