ok guys, im signing up for this! im an experienced o.d grower with a couple of indoor stealth grows but i am moving house soon so will be able to run something a bit bigger,Looking at a drs100 package with 400w hps.
Just have a couple of questions.
In a tent this size vented with an inline fan/scrubber and a clip on fan pointed toward the light would that be enough to keep temps under control?
Looking at your cooltubes confused me,You all seem to be sucking in air from outside through hoods then out the tent through a scrubber?
Are cool tubes not air tight? whats the point in the scrubber? are cool tubes air tight why the need to scrub?
I'm very tired with a bad back in alot of pain so maybe im just being dumb and not understanding but please could you explain how to set up a cool tube incase i decide to add more watts.
Thanks for any help guys and keep up the good work

yeh i totally understand the need to scrub, descression is my highest priority but i dont understand why scrub the air out the light and not the really smelly air from the actual tent?
Obv. the hot air is pulled away from the bulb but what about the smelly air from tent? is that also sucked out and into the feed from light aswell?

So you think venting the air from out the tent only will not be enough and i will need cool tube set up? Cost really isnt an issue so i can always go that route.
What does anyone who doesnt run a cool tube set up think?
Would like as many opinions as poss before i make my mind up. As i havnt lived in the new house as yet i have no idea what ambient temps will be but would like to get things up as soon as im in there as smoke is in very short supply round here at the moment so would like to order everything to my old address before i move then take it all with me and set it up.
Thanks for the input guys

O.k, guys so im thinking of going the cool tube route. How i was thinking of having it set up was to have filter inside the tent right at the top with ducting going to the cool tube underneath then the fan then more ducting going out through the exhaust.
Does this sound good to you experienced tent users? i have yet to find a tube in 4"(100mm) so will just use 2 reducers attached each end as the 400w drs100 pachage comes with 4" ductings and fans.
Some input would be really helpful guys thanks

Or would it be better to have filter/fan/tube/exhaust hole?

Just been reading up some more and decided to go the filter/fan/tube route as alot of people say the extra heat from having the fan after the light can damage fans.

So many conflicting views in this game, some say you should blow over lights/filters others say suck.Guess will get all the components i need then when i get moved set it up and just see how it goes

I would attach the fan to the carbon filter itself, so It will suck the air in the tent through the filter, then hook ducting to the other side of the fan, and hook that up to the cooltube reflector.

That will allow you to scrub the air free of the smell, then have it push through the light and out the tent to wherever you set your hose to exit.

like this^^

This is how I have my DR80 setup.

goblin filter>6'' active air inline>duct>cooltube>duct out the top of tent and into my attic.

Better to push air past the light if possible so as not to draw heat through the fan. IMO

Ok so I have a good problem I need help with haha I'm upgrading my system and I was going to get a Grow Lab GL120L and do a 3x6 table with 2 600's but I can get a GL 145L for a good deal but I don't want to run 2 1ks should I just do a 3x6 and the 600s in the bigger tent and say fuck it? Give me room to upgrade my lighting what do you think?

I would go for it urkle.. you can always veg a bit longer and streach LST them to fit;)

Good space for airflow and another extra 400w CMH on a aircooled hood would provee dividends...

I heared Max Lumend ran 2 600w in a 1200/1200 1 aircooled and 1 normal reflector with a ac unit in a big bag/small tent as a lung to controll the temps.. Supposed to have been the best grow ever but costly.. You have ac and fans and lights for a 12 12 the buds were twice the size!!!!!.. He is a dar gar gardner,,,,

Ok fellow tent club members I after 3 runs in my DR80 I have to say I don't like it and wish I would've researched a bit better and went with a Grow Lab. Well I did my research this time and I am going bigger and better folks! Went with a Grow Lab GL120L w a 3x6 table on a recirculating drip system with Smart Pots filled with Gold Label Coco and Black Gold Perlite 75/25 coco/perlite mix. They are being fed House and Garden Aqua Flakes and additives so I predict this to be my best grow yet here at IC. I got all my shit right finally lol no more tap water cuz I got a Small Boy filter with the KD85 Carbon filter and boy was I killin off the bio life with my tap water! I also got a ph pen and holly shit was I off with that drop test ph kit!!!!

So yea back to the Secret Jardin DR80.... I believe it has light leaks cuz I see em through the zipper when the light is on so I would guess light comes through those in the dark cuz I've had plants hermi on me a bit every run! So it pissed me off to see damn near EVERY other tent manufacturer has flaps on the inside or the outside or both to block the zipper! Go with a Grow Lab I wish did....

I have 2 Grow Labs, and they leak alot of light! They have Green Zippers, the flaps leak light and are pain in the ass, and pinholes everywhere. I just got a Secret Jardin to veg, that tent does not matter. I am super anal about light leaks, so I have found that the only sure way to lightproof a tent is to cover it with a black sheet or panda film, and lift it off every use. Also, lightproof your intakes. I use this...http://www.flex-drain.com/ Just cut and shape like an "S" and use a filter on the intake to keep clean.

Bottom line is I do not trust any tent to be light-proof to my standards. They all need some modifications, but are still a good investment.

anyone got some suggestions to keep my 250w hood in my gl60 from moving sideways with my cooltube ducting hooked up im using a carabiner clip and chain to mount light i found a temporary fix of using some rope to tie one side of reflector to the side pole.....but was wondering what others do?....and i added another 96w of fluro to my tent so we will see.....oh heres a link to my grow diary https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=181914

I'm happy with my DR80,no problems as yet with leaks had it a couple of years. Its up and down in ten minutes so I would stick with SJ mate.

I have no problems either with my sj's and if you have a sj and have leaks go over your entire assembly as their might be a zipper Issue that maybe came apart you never know nothing is 100 % except taxes and death  puff puff pass mofo's
