give us some details of the room/environment for more helpful info.

The room doesnt need to be sealed, you just need to create negative presure or basically suck air out. Put a big fan attached to a filter, and suck all the air out through the filter. The room will fill with air from cracks, etc and any intake holes you put in.

If running a true sealed room, put the filter and fan inside and recirculate the room air.

What he said. I use good old fashioned 7/16 OSB plywood and black silicone and good weather stripping around the doors to seal things.

I was planning on using a door made of poly with a zipper for my sealed room, will air leak out thru the zipper?

yes, air will leak through the zipper. consider a prehung exterior door from Home Depot.

I seal with 6 mil vapor barrier. You can get it for around 60 dollars for a 10x100 foot roll. I tape all the seams up

A prehung door is going to run at least 50 bucks. Anyone know where to pick up the zippers to make doors out of poly? I am doing something similar

How about that expanding spray foam you can buy at hardware stores? It's good for sealing up cracks and air leaks(within reason, we're not talking gaping holes here. lol)

As Yahama points out the key is negative pressure. Things solid or gaseous move away from high (positive) pressure and towards low (negative) pressure. It's why airplanes fly and baseballs curve. Maintain negative pressure and all leaks are good leaks because all air in the vicinity will be sucked IN. The only way out is the filter. Maintain positive pressure and all air will be pushed OUT. The filter will be bypassed because of the resistance it puts on airflow. Air will find the easier way.

Actually you want a pre-hung exterior door with all the weather stripping - probably closer to $100 - $150.

Home Depot/Lowe's both sell the tarp zippers, for $10, cheaper than the hydro stores do.

PharmaCan hit the nail on the head, as usual.

Prehung exterior door, weather stripping, if you like going in your grow, you'll like having a door. Believe me.
