sealed co2 room question

i know i have seen posts about this before but i was unable to find them with the search feature. i will be running a sealed room with co2 and i was wondering if i need to build a box for my air pumps(rdwc 8 bucket) so i do not pump co2 into the roots. thanks for the help.

I wouldn't worry about not giving the roots enough oxygen. I am don't know the math or the specifics but I assume if humans can get enough oxygen to survive in your grow room the roots will too. Also I have ran dwc in 1500 ppm rooms and didn't notice any side effects from the co2 except for huge buds.

I dont know how the CO2 works guys tbh as i was thinking of adding this to my grow but i cant see the point as i am usiong a grow tent which is fitted with a carbon filter so surely when you release CO2 its not going to be beneficial as its going to get sucked out through the filter wont it?????

Yeah, that's why most guys using CO2 use air-cooled hoods or lots of air conditioning instead of venting.

using a tent its almost impossible to run co2. I have seen it done with a modified ac in the tent. And they sewed all the flaps and used a lot of tape. Its easy to tell if a tent is leaking air because the walls will cave in or blow out if there is any pressure. And the zippers leak air so tape it up every time you go in and out.

I've kinda had the same thought before with my DWC. It seems logical that if the air in the room has 1500 ppm of co2 and the air pump is in the same room. Then it is sucking 1500 ppm co2 and o2 and pumping it into the root zone. Currently though I'm more worried about how hot my air pump is. My air pump manifold is hot to the touch which means hot air is pumped into the water making the water warmer then I want.

EDIT: 9-9-2009
having the air pump in the room with 1500 ppm co2 was no problem. also a small fan on my air pump fixed the hot air problem.

Hows it impossible to run CO2 in a tent? You can just grab a simple controller that will release CO2 till your RH and temp gets too high and then vent the tent, while shutting off the CO2. Then when it's back to baseline, stop venting, and release more CO2. The lights themselves are sealed and constantly being vented, increasing the intervals in which you would not have to vent the whole tent outside the sealed lights. As a result the CO2 will be plenty effective.

How does that not work? If I'm missing something big, please let me know, I'm about to change my ventilation to run like that. The a/c will be in the window of the room that the tent is in, to assure that any air cooling the lights is nice and cool. I can let the tent get up to 84-86 while running 1000+ on the CO2. Not hard.
