I love the $6 walmart thermometer/hygrometer in the middle of a $3000+ room.
they work!...well kinda....but they are nice to make sure your air is circulating well, & dont have any hot/cold spots
I love the $6 walmart thermometer/hygrometer in the middle of a $3000+ room.
Also if any of you are having inline fan noise problems, may I suggest maxfans.....in the room, they are quieter than a normal box fan....but at the intake/exhaust you still have to take precautions due to air movement
.Nice setup Mr Weekend. Like the new room. I myself am also new to doing sealed rooms with CO2 instead of neg pressure, but I've ran a few crops now, and I still can't keep my humidity up, LOL!
well thats good to hear!
I am doing RDWC buckets on chillers, and honestly, those chillers work as dehueys. I also have 2 portable one-ton AC units. I am also in the same dry climate as you, and even when my girls are seriously drinking and transpiring, I don't really have high humidity.
I do recommend AC, you can calculate how much you need by figuring out how many BTUs you will be pushing into the room. Each light, non-air cooled, gives off between 3500-3700 BTUs, to be safe, if you are ducting the lights, you still want to figure each light at just under 3000 BTUs, multiplied by how many lights you have, and then find an AC (or 2) that is equivalent to that number. As far as chillers, I highly recommend them in DWC, but if you are doing ebb & flow or something like that, they are far less necessary, especially if you are in a basement with concrete flooring.
So you recommend 18,000 btu. Ill go check them out today. I am using Ebb & Flow. Res is in another room to keep it cooler.
Also, how are you generating CO2? Tanks? Natural Gas? Propane? I don't recommend getting the CAP natural gas CO2 generator, since it gets seriously HOT. I think its hydrologic that makes a propane CO2 burner that you can liquid cool with a chiller, which will help a ton, and burning propane tanks is much more efficient than hauling in CO2 tanks. Also, there is a kit for the same propane burner to convert it to run on natural gas, so you don't need a tank at all!
Tanks
I also would suggest sometime of CO2/Temperature/Humidity controller. I have a CAP XGC-01e and it works great. I run both AC units (with relays) and my CO2 on it, and keeps most of my vitals where I need 'em.
I have a co2 ppm controller from nutrilife
http://www.nutrilifeproducts.com/products/co2Equipment/co2MonitorController/
Also have a sentinel temp controllers for AC, or I might just use the AC's temp control....not sure havent picked out an AC yet.
Also, I love the rigid duct, but for the lights? If you are growing different strains, you will have to raise different lights at different heights, won't you? I do, which is why I use insulated flex with just a bit of slack between my lights, so I can raise the lights a little higher for those sativas!!!
3 lights are a foot higher than the other 3. this will allow me to run a perpetual or 2 different strains at a time with different stretch. My other rooms get so packed I never move the lights once they are flipped. to hard to get in there. & this room is just the flower room, so they will be around 24in by the time they come in here.
Good luck and happy harvesting!
BTW, check out the thread in my sig for how I did my sealed room, err....tent!
And, oh yea, the recirculating carbon filter works great, you just might want to have more than one! That was one thing I was worried about also when I switched to a sealed room!
Seems like the trick to combating the humidity in a sealed room in CO w/o a dehumidifier is spacing your plants out well, and lots of good circulation. The recirculating charcoal filters are good for CO2 circulation also, since CO2 is heavy and sinks, the fan on the charcoal filter will pull air from below and push it upwards. I would run all your CO2 air line higher up, also!
I use the multiflow type of bucket system as well. With these systems less is more.
I tried the 36 site and later knocked it back to 12 and was actually able to harvast about the same amount with only an extra week of veg. I find that 6 buckets per 1000w is the sweet spot. So it seems like you are already doing it that way, you will be pleased with the results..
Raphael - Thanks & yea I cant wait!
Nice!...thats what I want to hear.....I spaced out the 36 last night & it just looked right.....like I said my other room was just PACKED, so hopefully I can space this room alittle better
LOL your last post got me confused now!
Gotta love those 10" max fans they move quite a bit of air.
