scrog leaf condensation issues

I'm into week 4 of my first scrog, and need advice. I SHOULD have sustained an even canopy level by tying the center down, BUT what i have is a bubble where growth has pushed the center up(except for the outside plants, which have been allowed to grow vertical) . The screen is full, and stretch has ceased, and my problem is the canopy is so cramped, there is some random condensation between leaves. (light is also 1ft or so away from canopy) I know this can lead to bud rot, so i must do something....
Should i remove the screen, and space them further apart, or do significant trimming to upper fan leaves? All the useless undergrowth is gone, and i have ample oscillating air down there. Whadayathink?

I think you'll have real problems trying to untangle that screen.... Just remove leaves until you think the space has enough airflow to reduce to the moisture. I pull out a ton of leaves off my SCROG and it works just fine. You're right that your biggest issue will be mold or mildew of some kind. Keep that air moving under, through, and above the plants to reduce your risk.

Try to get your humidity less than 50% (less than 40% is better) if at all possible by using fans or even a dehumidifier.

Hopefully, once your buds start to grow up, they will clear the main foliage.

Your better off trimming some of the fan leaves, once you take that screen off you won't be getting it back on the same way depending on the plant; you got pics of it?

When you have less air flow like merman has explained you will get some mildew issues, you want good air flow to happen all around the plant and even in the middle.

Why not jus ttie the bigger colas down and let the inner canopy catch up? I did this with many strains and it works a nice even set of colas 8 of them to be exact and it was even just as if I used a screen.

The minmum amount of colas I got was 5 and the most I got was 10

Hi there,

in the past i had a grow where my scrog was packed. Too many tops. Eventually the buds wouldn't get any light 2/3 from the top.

So i say trim some shoots. In my opinion you should never trim leaves especially fan leaves. They determine your yield in my experience. Most of their energy goes to buds so why remove them. Just my opinion.

Good luck

Yup... take out the shoots that won't produce anything expect wispy popcorn. You are better of working with a limited number of tops. One plant per square foot in a SCROG could theoretically get you 36 tops (2 inch squares in the screen, six on each side, 6x6 = 36), but you would have to be meticulous about your node placement in the screen.

Its easier to focus on less than a dozen per square foot of screen, and even that takes work. Thin the herd and you'll be happy with the results.

I agree with ganja... don't take any more vegetation out of there than you have to. I would start with the tiny shoots first, then take out any leaves that are blocking light to node/bud sites. This will slow down your plants by a day or three while they use energy to heal up vs. cont. budding, but that's no big deal.

Thanks guys. Yesterday, i started snip here, snip there...but something felt wrong. So i took out the screen and spaced them out a bit, and now they are moving in the breeze and appear to have more light penetrating to the bottom of the canopy. THanks for the advice, and i hope when i post this grow, some of you will watch....
