School forbids MySpace accounts

What do expect from a Catholic School (shivers from memories of those days - thankfully, they found me as 'incorrigable' and kicked me out)? I still owe them a few hundred million 'Hail Marys and Our Fathers.'

Catholic School isn't just for the rich - in fact, most of the students are from middle to lower class families. The less Catholic you are, the more you pay to go there in most cases. Best way to get a discount to attend one if you aren't Catholic is to agree to allow your children to be converted.

But we all know about Catholic Schools and their attempts at mind control. However, public schools are heading that way. The ones where I live are presently deciding what school uniforms the students are going to wear - catholic school style school uniforms - grades K through 12. Personally, I just think they should issue belts. Kids these days seem to have a problem with their pants falling to their knees. I guess we need some rappers to start wearing belts so wearing your pants above your thighs is 'cool' again. Takes those kids forever to get to classes on the second floor - they have trouble walking up steps with their pants at their ankles. But hey, at least they look cool, right?

who cares, there was no myspace when i was in 8th grade and also i never even owned a cell phone until i graduated high school. these kids have none of my sympathy

Fair enough but what if you got expelled for writing someone a letter with "bad language" (part of the reason they're not letting student have myspaces) outside of school, but somehow the school got access to it? Its the same idea.

Its not the idea of technology thats the point here, its the point of certain people trying to control other's freedoms where they have no right to.
